    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Northwood College is seeking a passionate part-time Cosmetology Instructor to help train the next generation of professionals. The instructor will provide both classroom and hands-on instruction, preparing students for success in the field. </p>\n<p>This position teaches during the 8-week summer semester, tentatively scheduled from June 7 through July 30 in 2027, pending final calendar approval. Classes run Monday–Wednesday from 7:30 AM to 4:50 PM and Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:20 PM, with a shortened final week. The ideal candidate will communicate regularly with co-instructors to support student success. Even though the position starts summer of 2027, the successful candidate will attend New Faculty Orientation on July 14–16 and July 28–30, 2026, as well as program-specific training on August 11–12, 2026.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Northwood Tech Instructors teach in a discipline area in which they have specific training and competence. Instructors are expected to foster learner success, assess learner achievement, and continually improve learning opportunities. Instructors teach in a variety of learning environments including face-to-face, online, web-conferencing, and hybrid classrooms. May be assigned to mentor high school teachers who offer Northwood Tech-articulated courses.</li>\n <li>Model the Employability Essentials expected of Northwood Tech students, which are to communicate clearly, demonstrate professionalism, think critically, and consider varying perspectives.</li>\n <li>Designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) to receive and report criminal incidents to the Northwood Tech Safety Office by virtue of this role’s responsibilities at the College (only applies to instructor positions with club advising duties).</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Degree & Experience Required:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Valid State of Wisconsin Cosmetology License or ability to successfully obtain license prior to start of employment contract</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in the field or closely related field and 2 years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience, of which at least 1 year (2,000 hours) shall be within 5 years prior to the date of appointment. OR</li>\n <li>1-year technical diploma in the field or closely related field and 5 years (10,000 hours) of occupational experience, of which at least 1 year (2,000 hours) shall be within 5 years prior to the date of appointment.  </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Teaching or industry-related training experience (post-secondary desired)</li>\n <li>Curriculum development experience</li>\n <li>Experience using alternative instructional modes (e.g., online, web-conferencing, and hybrid)</li>\n <li>Holds or willing to obtain Cosmetology Instructor License</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Salary</h2>\n<p>FY26 Salary - Adjunct Faculty:Non-FQAS Completion - $44 / hour </p>\n<p>FQAS Completion - $49 / hour</p>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<p>There are no benefits offered for this position.</p>\n<h2>Close Date</h2>6/9/2026",
