Apply today to join our team!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>As a Maintenance Worker at Vancouver Coastal Health you will: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform trades duties approaching the journeyman level in a variety of trades’ areas such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and welding.</li>\n <li>Perform maintenance and repair duties related to buildings and equipment and perform mechanical and electrical repairs to equipment and systems.</li>\n <li>Participate on the Rapid Response Team and as a member of the Maintenance team.</li>\n <li>Assist other team members in their duties to ensure a timely and complete delivery of service to our clients.</li>\n <li>Act in various capacities, supporting maintenance in general terms.</li>\n <li>Act as a customer service advocate, accelerating the resolution of customer concerns.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>This position may require inter-site work assignments, and working in a support role to trades personnel.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This work is framed within VCH’s commitments to our pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT BELLA BELLA, BC:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Bella Bella is a beautiful island community off the central coast of British Columbia, 690 km north of Vancouver. It is surrounded by a magical world of channels, inlets and old growth forest. It is home to salmon, orcas, humpbacks, bald eagles and the other denizens of the Pacific Northwest. The climate is mild and the area is a paradise for kayaking, sport fishing, hiking and photography.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education & Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Grade 10, plus four (4) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.</li>\n <li>Must have Valid BC Driver’s license, unless specified in the posting.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge & Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.</li>\n <li>Ability to deal with others effectively.</li>\n <li>Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.</li>\n <li>Ability to organize work.</li>\n <li>Ability to operate related equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Closing Statement</h2>\n<p>Class 5 Driver's License is required.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
