    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The After School Program Assistant Director (ASPAD) supports the Afterschool Program Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for students and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. They must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment in implementing a quality school age educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children, staff, and their parents. </p>\n<p>This position will allow us to be more prepared to maintain a high level of execution in state licensing requirements by always having someone who can be prepared to be the program lead in the absence of the After School Program Director. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> The duties listed below are the primary duties of this position but are not all the duties that may be required. The Salvation Army reserves the right to change, reduce or expand the duties of this position at any time. Specifically, the primary duties are: </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em><u>Assistant After School Program Director </u></em></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li> Serve as After School Program Director in the absence of the Director. This includes supervising program staff, program participants, students, volunteers, program schedules, activities, snacks, and daily student attendance, and other program responsibilities as assigned. </li>\n <li> Be prepared to enforce licensing requirements. This includes balancing student/teacher ratios, supervision of children requirements, and completing reports, among others. • Be able to enforce Keep Safe policies. This includes being able to file incident reports utilizing organizational reporting systems. </li>\n <li> Support the After School Program Director in tasks that are assigned. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em><u>After School Teacher Responsibilities</u></em></strong>: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Supervise and engage with children during program times. </li>\n <li>Develop and implement school age program activities and curriculum. </li>\n <li>Establish a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for all students </li>\n <li>Actively engage in activities, managing cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials. </li>\n <li>Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling. </li>\n <li>Help ensure smooth, daily transitions for children. </li>\n <li>Follow all program policies and state regulations. </li>\n <li>Maintain a clean work environment. </li>\n <li>Utilize classroom assessment and evaluation tools as it pertains to child development and curriculum. </li>\n <li>Communicate accidents, sicknesses, and incidents to the Program Director in a timely manner. </li>\n <li>Complete and maintain professional development to ensure continuous quality improvement. </li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em><u>General Office </u></em></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain good and accurate record keeping utilizing digital and paper filing systems. </li>\n <li>Follow all Salvation Army KeepSAfe policies. </li>\n <li>Be professional and timely in responding to email and requests.</li>\n <li>Be courteous in communication with students, staff, parents, and volunteers. </li>\n <li>Attend assigned staff meetings and trainings and actively contribute to these meetings. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em><u>Statement of Confidentiality</u></em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The person holding this position receives the trust of fellow staff and The Salvation Army. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience working with school-aged children (classroom teaching experience is preferred). </li>\n <li>High energy and the ability to work well with others. </li>\n <li>Strong oral and written communication skills. </li>\n <li>An understanding of child development. </li>\n <li>Multilingual- English/Spanish/French strongly preferred </li>\n <li>Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.</li>\n <li>Infant/child and Adult CPR and First Aid certification or be willing to attain certificate within 90 days. </li>\n <li>Must clear full background check. </li>\n <li>Must provide health screening that includes a physical and TB results within the first 90 days. </li>\n <li>Must be willing to support and/or lead faith-based kid’s activities and programming. </li>\n</ul>",
