This role is primarily <strong>land/dock-based</strong> at our Fleet Maintenance Center, with work performed on vessels, barges, gangways, and related marine structures.</p><p>Candidates must successfully <strong>pass a welding test</strong> and demonstrate strong workmanship, safety awareness, and attention to detail.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Perform all work with <strong>safety as the top priority</strong>, utilizing required PPE and safety equipment including eye, ear, respiratory protection, harnesses, scaffolding, and ladders.</li><li>Select appropriate welding equipment, materials, and settings based on job requirements.</li><li>Cut, fit, and prepare materials according to specifications and measurements.</li><li>Operate hand and power tools such as saws, grinders, sanders, squares, and calipers.</li><li>Align, clamp, and weld components in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead).</li><li>Weld using manual or semi-automatic methods (e.g., TIG, MMA).</li><li>Repair structures and equipment by welding, filling gaps, and reinforcing components.</li><li>Inspect and test welded surfaces and structures to ensure quality and integrity.</li><li>Maintain tools and equipment in safe, operable condition.</li><li>Assist with general ship repair and marine maintenance tasks.</li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience as a welder; <strong>must pass a welding test</strong>.</li><li>Experience welding <strong>steel and aluminum</strong>.</li><li>Proficiency with TIG, MMA, or similar welding procedures.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret <strong>technical drawings and blueprints</strong>.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of safety standards and PPE requirements.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail with a clean, organized work style.</li><li>Proficient in English (written and verbal).</li><li>Reliable transportation.</li><li><strong>TWIC Card</strong> (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required or ability to obtain and maintain.</li><li>Monday–Friday (Primary Schedule), weekends and holidays for emergency repairs and projects.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Completion of a relevant welding apprenticeship program.</li><li>Professional welding certification (e.g., <strong>AWS certification</strong>).</li><li>Prior marine or shipyard welding experience.</li></ul><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Welding experience: <strong>1 year required</strong></li><li>Welding certification: <strong>preferred</strong></li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive Pay</li><li>Medical and Ancillary Benefits</li><li>401(k) with Employer Match</li><li>Subsidized Parking</li><li>Complimentary Cruise &amp; Employee<strong> Discounts </strong>to Manthey Hospitality brands</li></ul>",
