    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Pay: $12/hour</p>\n<p>Requirements: &nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Full or part-time students in good standing are eligible for employment.</li>\n <li>Attendance at specific sport training including rules clinic, officiating mechanics and positioning, and scrimmage games to total approximately 5-9 hours.</li>\n <li>Complete written rules test and review with IM staff.</li>\n <li>Satisfactory evaluation upon completion of training period is required prior to being hired for a specific sport. Evaluation is conducted on: rules knowledge and enforcement; game management, to include, assertive whistle, professional appearance and demeanor, keeping appropriate pace, etc.</li>\n <li>Thorough knowledge of the Butler University Intramurals Sports Policies &amp; Procedures.</li>\n <li>Thorough knowledge of sport rules and ability to enforce them during each game.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal, decision making, and conflict management skills.</li>\n <li>Participation and Sports Officiating experience preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Responsibilities:</p>\n<p><u>Game Management</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide Pre-Game assistance</li>\n <li>Assist in setting up equipment for the evening and/or weekend activities.\n  <ul>\n   <li>Sign in and collect student ID’s of intramural teams.</li>\n   <li>Assist in examining facilities for safety hazards.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Provide quality officiating during contests</li>\n <li>View and follow the Intramural Sports contest and enforce the rules judiciously as possible.</li>\n <li>Oversee the Intramural Sports contest and ensure participation take place in a safe manner.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Assist in Post-Game duties&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Complete sportsmanship rating for teams.</li>\n <li>Assist in completing any forms. (i.e. accident, incident, protest, etc.)</li>\n <li>Assist in closing down the activity by collecting equipment at the conclusion of the night. (i.e. balls, bases, clipboards, tables, flags, jerseys, etc)</li>\n <li>Assist in securing the facility at the conclusion of the Intramural activity.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Additional Merit Opportunities:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Acquire a state certification for officiating a given sport</li>\n</ul>",
