Description
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: : Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred, but must be obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Advanced Electrical Engineer to join our Torpedo Systems Group. In this role, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for architecting, developing, and delivering sophisticated electrical systems and hardware solutions for mission-critical defense and government applications. You will bring deep expertise in analog circuit design, power supply development, and digital design while providing technical guidance to junior engineers and driving innovation across complex programs.

Collaborate with systems, software, and mechanical engineering teams to define and allocate requirements
Interface directly with customers and government stakeholders on technical matters
Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the program lifecycle
Design and analyze precision analog circuits including amplifiers, filters, data converters (ADC/DAC), and signal conditioning circuits
Develop mixed-signal designs integrating analog front-ends with digital processing systems
Perform noise analysis, bandwidth optimization , and linearity characterization of analog circuits
Conduct AC/DC analysis, frequency response, and stability analysis for analog feedback systems
Develop and execute analog circuit simulation using tools such as SPICE, LTspice, or equivalent
Ensure analog designs meet environmental and EMI/EMC requirements per applicable MIL-STD specifications
Lead analog circuit board bring-up, characterization, and debugging in a lab environment
Define and document analog performance specifications and verification test procedures
Architect, design, and develop DC-DC converters, AC-DC power supplies, and power distribution systems for defense electronics
Design switching power supplies including buck, boost, buck-boost, flyback, forward, and full-bridge topologies
Develop linear regulators and low-dropout (LDO) regulator circuits for noise-sensitive applications
Perform power system analysis including load analysis, power budgeting, efficiency optimization, and transient response characterization
Conduct thermal analysis and management of power electronics including heat sink selection and component derating
Perform stability analysis of power supply feedback loops using Bode plots and phase/gain margin verification
Design power sequencing, inrush current limiting, and fault protection circuits (OVP, OCP, OTP)
Execute power supply testing and characterization including efficiency curves, load regulation, line regulation, and ripple measurements
Design and develop high-speed digital circuits including processor-based systems, memory interfaces, and high-speed serial communications
Perform signal integrity analysis for high-speed digital interfaces including DDR memory, PCIe, Ethernet, and SerDes links
Design and validate digital communication interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, MIL-STD-1553, and ARINC 429
Develop embedded processor subsystems integrating microprocessors, microcontrollers, and associated peripherals
Develop and execute digital hardware test plans , including boundary scan (JTAG) and built-in self-test (BIST) strategies
Support DO-254 design assurance processes for complex electronic hardware (CEH) in safety-critical applications
