    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>NOV has a job opening for an <strong>Assembler</strong> with a mechanical aptitude to join our manufacturing facility in Edmonton. The successful candidate will be assigned to the afternoon shift and be responsible for assembling products using proper procedures and following safety rules. They will provide maintenance on machines/equipment, move materials within the shop, apply paint finishes on metal products, and sort both raw and finished goods.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><i><strong>This is an afternoon shift position - 1:30PM - 10PM</strong></i></p>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work on equipment dismantling and assembling under tight tolerances;</li>\n <li>Perform the necessary tests per applicable procedures and specifications for pumps, drives, rotators, and blow out preventers;</li>\n <li>Complete the required test documentation;</li>\n <li>Exercise judgement for decisions and problem solving and Follow all safety rules;</li>\n <li>Refer to JHA's for proper procedure;</li>\n <li>Perform general housekeeping duties;</li>\n <li>Ensure maintenance on machines, tools and/or equipment;</li>\n <li>Move raw and scrap materials and equipment throughout shop;</li>\n <li>Sort, pack and unpack raw materials and finished goods;</li>\n <li>Apply paint finishes on metal products;</li>\n <li>Prepare, clean and maintain booth equipment;</li>\n <li>Paint various equipment with Enamel and Endure products;</li>\n <li>Mask off areas not needing paint;</li>\n <li>May be required to answer phones;</li>\n <li>Assist in additional tasks as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualification Requirements </strong><i><strong>(Minimum Education and Experience)</strong></i><strong>:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>5+ years Mechanical background is required;</li>\n <li>High school diploma considered an asset;</li>\n <li>Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment considered an asset;</li>\n <li>Experience operating hydrodynamic and static test stations considered an asset;</li>\n <li>Forklift and overhead crane operation experience considered an asset;</li>\n <li>Able to work changing shift times and overtime as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work independently with limited supervision;</li>\n <li>Able to read and follow written instructions;</li>\n <li>Able to work in teams;</li>\n <li>Mechanically inclined; experience with hand and pneumatic tools;</li>\n <li>Basic computer skills considered an asset.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies Required (FYI Book):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Customer Focus;</li>\n <li>Drive for Results;</li>\n <li>Integrity and Trust;</li>\n <li>Dealing with Ambiguity.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>HSE Requirements (</strong><i><strong>Training and Physical Requirements</strong></i><strong>):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Training (completed in-house)</li>\n <li>HSE Orientation (completed in-house)</li>\n <li>Forklift Training (completed in-house)</li>\n <li>Lifting and Rigging Training (completed in-house)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Preferred method of application and to view all opportunities visit:</strong>&nbsp; <a href=\"https://www.nov.com/Careers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">https://www.nov.com/Careers</a></p>\n<p><strong>NOV is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination or Harassment of Any Kind</strong>: NOV is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunities for everyone and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
