Description

Generational Care is seeking its next Executive Director to lead a well-established, mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing quality of life for every generation with dignity and care. Headquartered in Richland, Washington, Generational Care serves communities throughout Southeast and South Central Washington through its programs: Home Care Services, Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels, and Healthy Ages. Through these programs, Generational Care provides in-home support services, nutrition assistance, meal delivery, healthy aging education, and other essential services that allow individuals to remain independent and thrive in their homes and communities. The Executive Director provides strategic, operational, and financial leadership for the organization and serves as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors, leadership team, and community stakeholders. This role requires a servant leader who demonstrates humility, integrity, transparency, and a deep commitment to Generational Care's mission. The next Executive Director will lead an organization serving communities throughout Southeast and South Central Washington with approximately 900 employees and hundreds of volunteers dedicated to supporting older adults and their families. The ideal candidate will be a relationship-driven leader who: • Leads with humility, curiosity, and trust. • Seeks to understand before making decisions. • Builds strong teams through collaboration and engagement. • Creates alignment by involving voices across the organization. • Utilizes the knowledge and expertise of an experienced leadership team. • Excels at fostering a positive organizational culture. • Demonstrates strong financial stewardship and strategic thinking. • Builds meaningful relationships with community partners, donors, sponsors, and stakeholders. • Supports and strengthens mission-driven programs and services. • Successfully works within a unionized environment. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in administration, finance, leadership, or a related field. • Minimum of five (5) years of executive leadership experience. • Proven experience leading teams and managing organizational operations. • Strong financial and budget management experience. • Experience working with a Board of Directors. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to build trust across all levels of an organization. • Strategic thinking combined with practical execution. • Emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and strong decision-making skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in a related field. • Experience in nonprofit, human services, healthcare, or aging services organizations. • Experience supporting or working alongside philanthropy, fundraising, or development functions. • Experience working in a unionized environment. Overview of Benefits: Eligibility for health, dental, vision, and basic life coverage through an employer-sponsored plan. Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) with generous employer contribution. Twelve days of annual paid leave (vacation) per year. Vacation accrual begins on the date of hire. Paid sick leave. Eleven company-paid holidays per year. 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with up to a 4% company match. Eligibility and matching contributions are administered in accordance with the plan document.
