Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand or pallet jack.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITES</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Distributes items to production workers or production line.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Marks materials with identifying information.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Opens bales, crates, and other containers.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Uses computer to enter records.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prepares parcels for mailing.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintains inventory records.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>DUTIES AND TASKS</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Duties and tasks are simple and repetitive. Follows existing policies, practices and procedures. Refers questions and problems to higher levels.
