    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>The Show Floor Visual Designer will&nbsp;create imaginative, eye-catching merchandise displays to attract customers' attention and drive sales by utilizing design concepts, color schemes, lighting, and display props. In addition, the Show Floor Visual Designer&nbsp;will work with AFW Management and the Staging team to create an inviting show floor for our customers.</p><p><strong>Pay: $22-$25.30/Hour&nbsp;</strong>(Higher rate may be available for experience + education)</p><p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Interior design education or 2-5 years of visual merchandising experience is required.</li><li>Coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency, and exceed customer service expectations.</li><li>Maintains brand standards for visual presentation throughout the store.</li><li>Worked with visual design, staging, and buying team members to develop display themes and color schemes.</li><li>Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperatively and constructive</li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies including but not limited to Storis, ipads, Excel, Word, etc.</li></ul><p><strong>Job Expectations:</strong></p><ul><li>Commitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote safety awareness.</li><li>Partners with the Staging Manager to prepare for and implement seasonal merchandising presentations and new visual merchandising initiatives.</li><li>Partners with store management on key visual merchandising decisions that impact workload and sales.</li><li>Researching to get an understanding of what is needed and coming up with design ideas.</li><li>Excellent eye for detail.</li><li>Ability to utilize basic design concepts to enhance showroom presentation.</li><li>Ability to understand and interpret AFW visual merchandising tools and direction.</li><li>Ability to offer solutions to store-specific visual and merchandising challenges using brand standards.</li><li>Actively participate in annual show floor inventory scans.</li><li>Make specific new merchandise displayed as soon as it is received.</li><li>Identifying and reading reports, tickets, and UPC labels.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to efficiently work independently under direct supervision.</li><li>Maintain a clean and safe work environment.</li><li>All training provided by AFW</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and, at times, congested areas.</li><li>Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, &amp; bend for 8 hours daily.</li><li>Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.</li><li>Requires lift, lower, push and pull merchandise and display props of 50 Lbs.</li><li>The Show Floor Visual Designer position requires lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving display props and accessories.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Work Environment:</strong></p><ul><li>Fluorescent Lighting</li><li>Concrete Flooring</li><li>The climate is affected by external conditions, including extreme heat and cold.</li><li>Considerable exterior noise</li><li>Extreme temperature fluctuations in the warehouse&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>You'll need to pass a pre-employment drug screen, and background check&nbsp;upon the job offer.&nbsp;American Furniture Warehouse provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.</p>",
