Our repeat clients include universities, and state, local, and federal government agencies, and large global industrial manufacturers, among others. <strong>Our MEPS service line is ranked #30 Nationally among MEP Giants.</strong></p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Because our backlog continues to grow, we are seeking a <strong>Mechanical Discipline Manager</strong> to join our <strong>Raleigh, NC</strong> <strong>and Orlando, FL</strong> office's existing <strong>Thermal Infrastructure </strong>department. As a mechanical discipline manager, you will be responsible for knowing how to do the work committed to in proposals and assigning / leading the appropriate resources to do the mechanical work associated with thermal infrastructure projects. Assist Project/Client Managers by providing engineering resources – a design team - to help meet the client’s desires and budget. Duties would also include some involvement in direct MEP sales and assisting with sales efforts for multidiscipline projects. In short, provide the design/engineering resources and guidance to accomplish our thermal infrastructure commitments. Experience with Design/Build projects is a plus. Reports to the Mechanical <strong>Principal Engineer</strong>.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Discipline Managers are expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete thermal infrastructure projects:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Technical and Quality oversight of all project work.</li>\n <li>Establishing/improving standards.</li>\n <li>Adherence to project design schedule.</li>\n <li>Notification to Project/Client Managers if an established project design schedule cannot be met. Notify in enough time to appropriately manage the situation, preferably at the latest 2 weeks prior.</li>\n <li>Adherence to discipline project budget. Review and provide updates on project budgets at milestone dates. </li>\n <li>Attention to project scope during the design process to identify potential additional services.</li>\n <li>Identify staff performing design of the project, along with a senior staff member if required.</li>\n <li>Identify Engineer of Record.</li>\n <li>Provide general updates of projects (status in the process, tasks to complete, percentage complete currently, etc.)</li>\n <li>Identify milestone dates when each discipline should provide information, at each phase, to allow sufficient time to good design coordination.</li>\n <li>Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions, technical and cost estimates.</li>\n <li>Coordination with all the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.</li>\n <li>Work schedule for discipline showing:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Project assignments and priorities</li>\n   <li>Delivery due dates for group project commitment’s</li>\n   <li>Workload/Capacity</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p>Discipline Managers control all production resources, and all commitments must come from Discipline leaders. Conversely – accountability for our deliveries comes from Discipline Managers.</p>\n<h2>Required Skills & Required Experience</h2>\n<p><strong>Experience in the design of institutional, educational, healthcare, laboratory and military projects is desired. The candidate should have a proven history of solid design work, meeting project deadlines and budgets, and working well in a team environment.</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>• Professional Engineer’s license. Existing licensure in NC and/or VA is preferred.</strong><strong>• 15+ years of technical experience in the design of thermal distribution systems, central utility plants, and/or building mechanical systems.</strong><strong>• Experience in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and/or drafting is a plus.</strong><strong>• Experience in pipe stress modeling is a plus.• Self-motivated and well organized.</strong><strong>• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Do not meet every single requirement?
