If you’re searching for something more than just a job, something akin to a calling, then consider the challenge and opportunity of being a member of Johnson County Government! </p>\n<p>Johnson County Mental Health is looking for qualified applicants to fill the position of a Full-time, <strong>Behavioral Health Specialist</strong> for the <strong>Adult Crisis Stabilization Center, </strong>a new program at the Johnson County Mental Health Center.  The unit has 24/7 operations and typically individuals stay in the program for up to 3-5 days.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position is eligible for a shift differential specific to <strong>overnight hours($1.50/hr), weekend hours ($0.75/hr), and evening hours ($0.75/hr)</strong>. <strong> </strong>  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Schedule shifts available for this position: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Overnight shift: Monday through Friday, 11pm-7am</li>\n <li>Evening shift: Monday through Friday, 3pm-11pm</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Posting will remain open until position is filled.</strong></p>\n<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p>Job duties include: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides, assists with, or coaches individuals on personal care needs with limited supervision; provides crisis interventions (including evidence based practices to maintain the safety of individuals); monitors adult interactions and behaviors; monitors medication administration as prescribed; monitors and documents mental and physical condition of individuals.</li>\n <li>Teaches, coaches and provides guidance and support on various skills to enable productive lives of individuals; assists clients with managing their emotions, assists and supports individual treatment/recovery goals and assist clients in developing positive coping skills; develops and maintains a positive and effective relationship with service recipients, families, and other service providers.</li>\n <li>Organizes and participates in meetings related to care coordination; completes documentation for direct services provided to ensure timely and accurate completion.</li>\n <li>May transport individuals receiving services to appointments, activities, and/or work.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Job Requirements</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Minimum Job Requirements:</u></strong></p>\n<p>High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience working in a human services field are required. A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is preferred.</p>\n<p>Experience working with adults in a behavioral health setting is preferred.</p>\n<p><strong><em>Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions.  Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.</em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<p>Experience working with individuals in a behavioral health and/or substance use setting is preferred.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>Education/Experience Substitutions:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Education may be substituted for experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.</p>",
