    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>We are hiring a compassionate and experienced Part Time Emergency Care Technician to work with our clients at The Camp Recovery Center in Scotts Valley! This is a key role whose primary goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for our adult clients who have co-occurring disorders (substance use disorder and mental health disorders). The Camp is a 74-bed treatment center providing services to adults on both an inpatient and outpatient basis.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>PURPOSE STATEMENT:</strong></p>\n<p>Provide first-line medical or emergency care for sick or injured patients.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Accurately obtain and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure.</li>\n <li>Use emergency skills and knowledge to assess a patient’s cardiac and respiratory status or manage and respond to emergencies.</li>\n <li>Assist with the completion of patient biopsychosocial assessment, including assisting with admission and discharge of patients.</li>\n <li>Monitor physical and emotional well-being of patients and report unusual behavior or physical ailments to appropriate staff.</li>\n <li>Prepare and maintain records of progress and services performed.</li>\n <li>Give medications, following instructions from physicians, other prescribing medical professionals or where approved by state law or regulations for EMTs.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with other staff in working with the population of the facility to treat, rehabilitate and return patients to the community.</li>\n <li>Comply with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintain organizational and industry policies regarding confidentiality.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always.  When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints.  Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>OTHER FUNCTIONS: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent required.</li>\n <li>Additional education or training which results in certification or licensure as an EMT per state requirements required.</li>\n <li>Previous experience in behavioral health setting, as well as knowledge and experience working with the population of the facility, preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) licensure, per state requirements.</li>\n <li>CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).</li>\n <li>First aid may be required based on state or facility.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ADDITIONAL REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>\n<p><strong>As Needed and Required </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>COMPENSATION:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Compensation for roles at <strong>THE CAMP RECOVERY CENTER</strong> varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
