With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.</p>\n<p><strong>Role Description</strong>:</p>\n<p>Arcadis is seeking a&nbsp;<strong>Sustainability Engineer</strong>&nbsp;to support one of the&nbsp;<strong>most iconic and consequential infrastructure initiatives in the United States</strong>&nbsp;— the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). This role is focused on supporting construction-phase sustainability execution, FEIS compliance via Envision documentation, and coordination with project teams to achieve sustainability goals.</p>\n<p>We are working as the Delivery Partner along with team members and selected by the Gateway Development Commission to deliver this transformative project. The HTP is a critical component of the broader Gateway Program&nbsp;<strong>— one of the most ambitious and impactful transportation initiatives in the nation</strong>&nbsp;— and is designed to strengthen mobility, enhance resiliency, and ensure the long-term reliability of the Northeast Corridor.</p>\n<p>The project encompasses the construction of a new, two-track rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River, along with the full rehabilitation of the existing 113-year-old North River Tunnel. This vital infrastructure supports more than 200,000 daily passengers via Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT and serves as a backbone for economic activity and connectivity between New York and New Jersey.</p>\n<p>This is more than just a job —&nbsp;<strong>it’s a once-in-a-generation opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant infrastructure program</strong>&nbsp;that will reshape rail transportation, drive sustainable economic growth, and improve regional accessibility for millions. As part of this high-performing, multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver excellence on one of the most technically complex and high-profile projects in the world.</p>\n<p>If you're seeking to make a meaningful, lasting impact — while advancing your career alongside some of the best minds in the industry —&nbsp;<strong>this is your moment</strong>.</p>\n<p><strong>Role Accountabilities</strong>:</p>\n<p>Construction Phase Support</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Take part in construction kickoff meetings</li>\n <li>Attend weekly construction management (CM) meetings and site visits</li>\n <li>Support onboarding and orientation sessions for contractors and CM teams on GDC sustainability/REIM requirements</li>\n <li>Review and track construction submittals for alignment with GDC sustainability requirements</li>\n <li>Coordinate with contractor sustainability representatives to implement GDC Sustainability construction-phase credits</li>\n</ul>\n<p>FEIS/Envision Documentation &amp; Reporting</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collect and organize documentation from design and construction teams as it relates to GDC Sustainability goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)</li>\n <li>Support preparation and submission of Envision documentation to the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI)</li>\n <li>Track credit progress and assist in maintaining project-wide Envision documentation logs</li>\n <li>Coordinate responses to ISI comments in collaboration with internal and external teams</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Coordination &amp; Program Support</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support tracking of sustainability KPIs (e.g., materials, energy, water, waste) during construction</li>\n <li>Assist in preparing periodic sustainability reports and internal updates</li>\n <li>Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, environmental, construction) to ensure consistency in sustainability implementation</li>\n <li>Support continuous improvement of sustainability processes and tools across project packages</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong>:&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field</li>\n <li>5–8 years of experience on infrastructure or construction projects</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Key Skills and Abilities</strong>:&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (Envision preferred; ENV SP is a plus)</li>\n <li>Strong organizational and communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">Why Arcadis?</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
