Description

Jamestown JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION/LEVEL: Engineer I FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt DEPT/OFFICE: Jamestown Commercial Management Corporation DATE: August 2026 JOB SUMMARY : The Engineer I assists with the maintenance and operation of all mechanical equipment, appliances, building-related systems, and routine general maintenance. This position works closely with other Engineers under the supervision of the Lead Engineer/Chief Engineer. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED : Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; and One to three years of progressively responsible related experience in a commercial property, tenant management setting; or Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : Perform scheduled maintenance and building repairs, including equipment testing, and preventative maintenance. Perform unscheduled maintenance calls, including plumbing emergencies, minor equipment malfunctions, HVAC calls, electrical and lighting repairs, and minor structural repairs (ceiling, floor, door, etc). Assist in the operation and maintenance of fire/ life safety systems for the property. Perform regularly scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks to ensure all building equipment is functioning properly. Respond to emergency calls after hours as directed. Promote and maintain safe work practices focusing on overall safety. Work with tenants to understand their needs in order to build and maintain positive, productive and professional relations. IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs other related duties as assigned. MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED : Tools and equipment needed for building maintenance and repair. General Office Equipment KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS : Knowledge of: Building and equipment maintenance/repair techniques. Basic property management tools and skills. Skill in: Organizational and interpersonal skills Applying building and equipment maintenance/repair technique. The ability to meet deadlines, accomplish work in order of priority; professionally maintain composure & effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions Self-motivation, leadership, teamwork and collaboration. Conflict Management Resolution Working Conditions: Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines.
