As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Scientific Programmer to join our growing team.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Duties of the Scientific Programmer will include the following:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Data analysis and GIS.</li>\n <li>Software development including Python, Integrated Development Environments, debugging principles, continuous integration testing and automated documentation. Databases and queries in PostgreSQL.</li>\n <li>Working with geospatial applications such as QGIS, libraries such as Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL), and OGC web services.</li>\n <li>Horizontal and vertical datums as well as transformations in the context of point and raster data.</li>\n <li>Version control best practices and experience with version control software such as Git.</li>\n <li>Mapping standards and techniques.</li>\n <li>Container-based software development and deployment platforms.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>The Scientific Programmer selected should have the following:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have a Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Marine Science, Engineering, Biology, Oceanography, or related field. </li>\n <li>5+ years of related experience.</li>\n <li>Software development experience, including Python, integrated development environments, debugging principles, continuous integration testing, and automated documentation.</li>\n <li>Version control best practices and experience with version control software such as Git.</li>\n <li>Container-based software development and deployment platforms experience, such as Docker.</li>\n <li>Must be proficient in Geospatial data systems configuration; production techniques; and database manipulation.</li>\n <li>Experience with digital cartography, image processing, concept formulation, metadata documentation, software architecture and engineering.</li>\n <li>Experience with integration of general software applications, GIS software, statistics, and GIS operation.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of different types of remote sensing data and working with the government sector is beneficial.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>About Lynker</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Lynker is a growing, employee owned, small business, specializing in professional, scientific and technical services.
