As a Lane Closure Technician (LCT), you play an essential role in supporting the safety of your fellow roadworkers, crews and members of public on the road. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient set up, maintenance, and removal of traffic control measures in various work zones across the lower mainland. You will work with contractors involved in heavy underground, light utility, electrical, paving, road building, and special events. You role will be instrumental in ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while minimizing traffic disruptions, upholding standards, and providing a secure work environment for our teams and community. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">What you will be responsible for:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>Traffic Control</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Lead Traffic Control persons, providing direction and guidance to set up and tear down signs, work zone delineations, and ensure safe traffic control.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Set up traffic control zones.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Give clear and precise traffic control directions and signals for motorists' understanding.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Monitor the traffic and work zone and modify when scope of work changes.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>Safety and Compliance</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Effectively conduct traffic control at worksites within the scope of training to protect workers, the public, and our employees.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Comply with all Acts, Regulations, Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures for health and safety.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Participate in accident/incident investigations as required and complete necessary forms and reports for due diligence and compliance.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>Special Events and Meetings</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Conduct traffic control at Special Events when required, following the direction of the company's Special Events coordinator.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Attend health and safety tool-box/tailgate meetings to discuss work related matters.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Hazards must be addressed in a Field Level Risk Assessment (FLRA) and must be complete prior to work commencing.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>Reporting and Communication</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Report directly to the contractor's site supervisor, taking their direction for traffic control setup and safety if no Lane Closure Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor from the company is on-site.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Report health and safety matters, non-compliance issues, or conflicts with any company employee to the company's Area Manager or Health and Safety Officer. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>Safety Gear and Equipment</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Always wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by WorkSafeBC regulations or site safety rules, policies, or procedures.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Use proper protocol when using two-way radios and refrain from the use of profane or vulgar language.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>Certification and Training</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ensures the BC Traffic Control Person (TCP) certificate is maintained to be current and valid at all times.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">What we need from you:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Minimum 6 months of BC LCT experience.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Current TCP certification recognized by WorkSafeBC or equivalent provincial regulator.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Drivers License with a clean driving record.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Possession of and ability to use a smartphone with a data plan.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Good knowledge and understanding of the WorkSafeBC Regulations for Traffic Control, Part 18.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge and understanding of the WCB Act, sections 115-117, General Duties.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge and understanding of the Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Management Manual for Work on Roadways as developed by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of the requirements of the British Columbia Motor Vehicle Act and other regulations related to traffic control.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ensures accountability - holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Collaborates - Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Manages conflict - Handling conflict situations effectively.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Directs Work - Provides directions, delegates, and removes obstacles to get work done.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Situational adaptability - adapting approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Plans and aligns - plans and prioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;
