This position will report to the Director of Land Surveying and will primarily be a field role, performing control, boundary and topographic surveys.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Party Chief - </strong>Responsibilities include, but not limited to:</p><p>In charge of field survey activities, including:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Understanding and executing scope of work for each assignment</li><li>Providing direction and oversight of instrument operator.</li><li>Ensuring proper field techniques, and quality checks are taking place.</li><li>Ensuring proper safety measures are being followed.</li><li>Provide debriefing to senior office staff after completion of assignment.</li><li>Field reconnaissance of property evidence.</li><li>Thorough understanding of the operation of total stations and GNSS equipment.</li></ul><p><strong>Instrument Operator - </strong>Responsibilities include, but not limited to:</p><p>Assist Party Chief in survey field activities, including:</p><ul><li>Operation of total station and GNSS equipment</li><li>Perform necessary collimation and maintenance of survey equipment.</li><li>Field reconnaissance of property evidence.</li><li>Work well in team environment and follow direction of the Party Chief.</li><li>Assist with ensuring quality checks are implemented, and job safety procedures are being followed.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Party Chief:</strong> 5+ years’ experience in land surveying</li><li><strong>Instrument Operator: </strong>3+ years’ experience in land surveying</li><li>A Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.</li><li>Bachelors or Associates degree in Land Surveying, a plus</li><li>Experience with NYSDOT survey procedures, a plus</li><li>Experience with Trimble robotics, a plus</li><li>Experience with Leica GNSS, a plus</li><li>Experience with terrestrial LiDAR, a plus</li><li>Experience with sUAS, a plus</li><li>Ability to perform physical work (i.e., strenuous walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying / loading equipment, etc.)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About Popli Design Group (PDG)</strong></p><p>PDG is a well-established multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering firm that has been serving clients since 1982.
