Brands supported by the CRVA include the Charlotte Convention Center, Spectrum Center, Bojangles Entertainment Complex, NASCAR Hall of Fame, Charlotte Film Commission, Visit Charlotte and Visitor Info Centers. Job Summary The Banquet Server is responsible for pre-event setup, serving food and beverages to clients while delivering exceptional customer service, and post-event breakdown. Job Responsibilities Essential Job Duties Carries out all banquet orders as assigned, including set-up/break-down, equipment, and any additional requirements. Monitors the progress of the event, replenishing food and beverage when necessary. Properly handles, maintains, and cleans equipment such as linen, silver, china, glassware, fixtures, chafers, etc. Assists with training of new and current banquet staff members as required. Maintains professional attire, image, and demeanor at all times. Attends all meetings as required. Complies with all CRVA and Convention Center policies and procedures. Performs other duties as requested. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employees are expected to arrive on time and be ready to begin work at the start of their scheduled shift and to work their full scheduled hours. Consistently deliver the best in customer service. Model and be accountable ensuring that customers are always put first by living the CRVA Service Philosophy to deliver memorable customer experiences. Champion CRVA’s mission, vision and core values and comply with organizations policies and procedures. Scope of Responsibility This job has no budgetary responsibilities. Supervisory Responsibility There are no supervisory responsibilities for this job. Knowledge and Skill Requirements Ability to anticipate customer needs, build positive relationships with customers and vendors, and go the extra mile to satisfy and exceed customer expectations. Treat all customers and vendors with the highest degree of respect and courtesy, delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers. Obtain full knowledge of the Convention Center’s Alcohol Awareness Program, as well as the State of North Carolina’s policies and procedures. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be fluent in English. Education and Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in hotel, convention center or multi-meeting facility is strongly preferred. Physical Demands The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand for long periods of time. Work Environment The noise level in the work environment could vary depending on the event within the venue. Travel Required This job has no travel requirements.
