Job Description Machinist Walton, KY Compensation Includes Starting pay rate $32.37/hour Available Shift 7:00am - 7:00pm Rotating Days: Week 1: Thursday, Friday, Saturday Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday Overview Completes machine adjustments, modifications and repairs, based on plant needs. Job duties may vary, based on level of proficiency. Different levels are attained by passing test. Responsibilities Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards Keep work area clean and organized, per standards Follow all applicable food service policies and procedures Follow all PPE policies, wearing steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc. as required Make plate cylinders, ensuring they fit appropriately down to each detail Make gears, figuring and ensuring correct dimensions, using gear shaper Repair machine breakdowns as needed Build up, grind and reweld shafts Weld various items made of steel, cast iron, aluminum, stainless steel; braze or weld brass Handle sheet metal work, such as making guards and ink pans Work on special projects as assigned Respond to radio calls as needed Handle dismantling and rebuilding work Grind rubber rolls Make parts needed, ensuring that specifications are correct Cut shafts Draw blueprints and sketches of work Keep equipment clean Meet/achieve job goals set forth by management Qualifications High school diploma or GED Machinist trade school experience is preferred 3-5 years of applicable work experience is required Solid understanding of company machinery in order to handle job duties Ability to set up and run lathes and milling machines (Bridgeport) Will make cylinders and ink pans, chaise threads, make complete parts and determine correct specifications #INDQSR Company Benefits What You'll Get From Us Benefits With safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
