Scale of compensation is variable, and reflective of site contracts. Please note, some of our sites are unionized work environments.</span><br><span>Working Hours: Rotating 8–12-hour shifts, various hours/days of the week. This also includes full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions.</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Duties and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(72, 65, 63)\">If you’re motivated by the key responsibilities below, then we’d love to hear from you!</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Protecting people, property, and information</span></li>\n<li><span>Conducting on-foot perimeter and search patrols (inside and outdoors)</span></li>\n<li><span>Monitoring and responding to alarm and security systems</span></li>\n<li><span>Ensuring the health and safety in the workplace</span></li>\n<li><span>Adhering to CNS’ Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, systems, and practices (and those of the Clients we serve)</span></li>\n<li><span>Respecting CNS policies, Site Work Instructions, and Site Supervisor’s direction</span></li>\n<li><span>Other functions may include patrolling, reception/administration, reporting, emergency management and access control</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHO WE’RE SEEKING</span></p>\n<p>CNS is an equitable employer, and would consider an acceptable equivalent of education, experience and transferable skills. Key qualifications and skills to be successful include, but are not limited to:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>- Superior attention to detail with very good verbal communication skills<br>- Excellent customer service skills<br>- Computer literacy, and/or an aptitude to learn is an asset<br><br></p>\n<p>Mental alertness with an ability to:</p>\n<p>- demonstrate a strong work ethic and “Can Do” attitude<br>- react calmly, quickly, and appropriately in any crisis<br>- concentrate and remain alert for up to 12 hours<br>- communicate observed characteristics/behaviour (good memory)<br>- demonstrate problem-solving and sound judgement<br></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Physical fitness with an ability to:<br>- climb multiple flights of stairs with ease<br>- navigate uneven terrain during foot patrols (in all weather conditions)<br>- display good dexterity and balance<br>- rely on all senses in assessing changes to the work environment<br></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Basic Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Be aged 19 or older;</span></li>\n<li><span>Have eligibility to work in Canada;</span></li>\n<li><span>Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted;</span></li>\n<li><span>Be able to provide fingerprints and complete a criminal record check;</span></li>\n<li><span>Be eligible to apply for, and attain, a Government of Canada personnel security screening.;</span></li>\n<li><span>Have a valid Nova Scotia's Driver's License, or reliable transportation to/from the worksites.</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">READY TO JOIN US?</span><br><span>This position is open to external and internal applicants (commissionaires should include their Corps #).
