The Parent Advocate/Case Aide position will also need to make home/school visits. Provide support when another staff is on vacation/leave. This individual will be a parent or caregiver who is/has raised a child with SED and is personally familiar with the associated challenges and available community resources.</p><p><br></p><h1>Essential&nbsp;Functions:</h1><ul><li>Work&nbsp;with&nbsp;clients&nbsp;who&nbsp;need&nbsp;assistance&nbsp;in&nbsp;areas&nbsp;such&nbsp;as housing,&nbsp;public&nbsp;assistance,&nbsp;Medicaid,&nbsp;schools, and&nbsp;the juvenile&nbsp;justice system.</li><li>Represents&nbsp;the&nbsp;agency&nbsp;at&nbsp;various&nbsp;councils,&nbsp;committees, and&nbsp;with other&nbsp;agencies,&nbsp;according to program&nbsp;needs.</li><li>Provide&nbsp;translation&nbsp;services,&nbsp;when&nbsp;needed&nbsp;and&nbsp;possible.</li><li>Organize&nbsp;and&nbsp;lead&nbsp;parent&nbsp;self-help&nbsp;and&nbsp;advocacy&nbsp;groups&nbsp;and&nbsp;coordinate&nbsp;efforts&nbsp;with&nbsp;other&nbsp;service&nbsp;providers and networks.</li><li>Provides&nbsp;childcare/supervision&nbsp;while&nbsp;parents&nbsp;are&nbsp;involved&nbsp;in&nbsp;program&nbsp;services.</li><li>Conduct&nbsp;home/school&nbsp;visits.</li><li>Provide&nbsp;support when&nbsp;another&nbsp;staff is&nbsp;on&nbsp;vacation&nbsp;or&nbsp;on&nbsp;leave.</li><li>Perform&nbsp;other&nbsp;related&nbsp;duties&nbsp;as&nbsp;assigned.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h1>Supervisory&nbsp;Responsibilities:</h1><ul><li>None</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><h1>Minimum&nbsp;Qualifications:</h1><ul><li>High&nbsp;School&nbsp;Diploma&nbsp;or&nbsp;equivalency.</li><li>1&nbsp;year&nbsp;of&nbsp;experience working&nbsp;with&nbsp;children&nbsp;and&nbsp;families.</li><li>Some&nbsp;experience&nbsp;either&nbsp;paid&nbsp;or as a volunteer in&nbsp;helping&nbsp;children&nbsp;and&nbsp;parents.</li><li>Ability&nbsp;to&nbsp;work in&nbsp;diverse&nbsp;social,&nbsp;cultural,&nbsp;and&nbsp;economic&nbsp;groups.</li><li>Good&nbsp;communication&nbsp;and&nbsp;listening&nbsp;skills.</li><li>Proficiency&nbsp;in&nbsp;Microsoft&nbsp;Office.</li><li>Ability&nbsp;to&nbsp;plan&nbsp;and&nbsp;carry&nbsp;out&nbsp;assignments.</li></ul><p>Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines, and multi-task.</p>\n    </div>\n  </div>\n",
