Description

This application is now closed. Interviews are underway. Any applications received past the May 1st deadline will be considered for a talent pool if a position opens up. Community Organizer Job Description Posting Date:  Monday, March 23, 2026 Priority Application Dea dline:  Friday, May 1, 2026 Email: [email protected] Division: Organizing Reports to: Organizing Manager About Us Mobilize. Organize. Vote. Empower. MOVE Texas was founded in 2013 as MOVE UTSA by a small group of dedicated students at The University of Texas at San Antonio to increase participation in local elections. Since then MOVE Texas has gone statewide to become one of the most effective voter registration and engagement groups for young people in the state . Our vision is to build the political power of young people to transform democracy in Texas and beyond. We are building the next generation of Texas leadership by teaching critical organizing skills to take them from voters to effective, lifelong organizers. Our theory of change is simple: develop new leaders, educate voters and create space for the changes we need to make sure that our state can be a place where all Texans can thrive. Across our state, young people care deeply about the issues shaping our lives, and the chapter program is how we support people turning that energy into action. As MOVE Texas grows its chapter network, more people are stepping up to organize the youth movement both in their communities and on campuses across Texas. MOVE started as a student-led chapter on a single college campus, built on a simple idea: that if young people organize each other, we can change the future of Texas. That belief still guides us today. Position Description MOVE Texas is looking for five (5) Community Organizers to join our team to help build a MOVE Texas chapter in your community. Community Organizers are leaders who are ready to bring people together, organize their peers to leverage collective power, and help shape the kind of future young Texans deserve in our communities and across our state. Training & Support: Receive ongoing mentorship, organizing training, and leadership development from MOVE Texas staff throughout the program. Statewide Network: Are part of a statewide network of chapters, collaborating with other young organizers across Texas and sharing strategies, tools, and support.
