The individual will be working as a member of the Engineering Solutions branch responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. The Engineering Solutions branch performs cutting edge technology development work in support of the National Defense Strategy.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>Open to internal and external candidates. </em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be highly organized, have effective verbal and written communication skills, be able to work with discretion and confidentiality, proven time management skills, be proactive, and be willing to continually learn new duties and skills.<u>              </u></p>\n<p><strong>Job Duties:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for management of personnel and workflow for the Facility Modeling & Analysis (FM&A) section, ensuring development of technical approaches, use of judgment within defined practices and procedures, and making technical decisions, including making preliminary selections and adaptations of technical alternatives, for assigned work.</li>\n <li>Ensures execution of technology development tasks for Facility Modeling solutions, including development of Matlab/Simulink physics-based models of AEDC test facilities and test articles, Structural Analysis of AEDC systems utilizing Finite Element Analysis, and other technology development projects as assigned.</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain positive, open relationships with AEDC counterparts and with M&S technology development customers.</li>\n <li>Champions a work environment which fosters openness, trust, communications, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.</li>\n <li>Determine and monitor the staffing assignments to effectively execute FM&A workload.</li>\n <li>Manage employee performance and delivery of applied technology development activities supporting the Air Force (AF) Analysis and Technology Branch, Test Mission Areas, as well as external customers. </li>\n <li>Actively participate in the development of employee goals and objectives.</li>\n <li>Conducts annual performance reviews in accordance with approved BNH procedures and holds career development discussions</li>\n <li>Conduct strategic planning with principal investigators, subject matter experts, and program managers for the technology budget allocations each year.</li>\n <li>Provide weekly input for discussion with the AF Technology section lead and BNH leadership regarding status of FM&A section activities.</li>\n <li>Administer personnel discipline.</li>\n <li>Exemplifies the company core value and covenant of safety in all aspects of job including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policy.</li>\n <li>Performs other related duties as required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>B.S. degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related scientific discipline from an accredited university with minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in technical environment. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to obtain & maintain security clearance & access to DoD network & computer systems</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Due to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A minimum of 2 years of engineering management experience in leading teams and allocating limited resources among competing demands.</li>\n <li>Experience developing physics based models of aerospace testing facilities ranging from hypersonic arc heated wind tunnels to low speed subsonic facilities, or similar facilities such as oil & gas refineries  </li>\n <li>Advanced Degree in Engineering with experience doing computational development and analysis</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink or ANSYS product suite</li>\n <li>Demonstrated technical knowledge of developing computational engineering methods and application of modeling & simulation tools to engineering problems.</li>\n <li>Ability to develop and maintain relationships with employees, clients, and customers.</li>\n <li>Ability and desire to mentor and develop diverse talent</li>\n <li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li>\n <li>Experience leading a culture of innovation and continuous improvement</li>\n <li>Professional Society involvement (AIAA, etc.)</li>\n <li>Active Secret Security Clearance</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salaries</li>\n <li>Continuing education assistance</li>\n <li>Multiple healthcare benefits packages</li>\n <li>401K with employer matching</li>\n <li>Paid time off (PTO) along with a federally recognized holiday schedule</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Who We Are</strong></p>\n<p>Beyond New Horizons (BNH) is a fully populated joint venture of Astrion and Fluor Federal Services, Inc. formed to provide unmatched Test Operations and Sustainment services for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex.
