Satellite engineering offices across the US are available so location constraints are potentially flexible.</p><p><strong>Hypersonic Airframe and Propulsion Design Engineer&nbsp;</strong><strong>(Senior and Principal levels considered)</strong></p><p>The Hypersonic Airframe and Propulsion Design Engineer will design, analyze, and synthesize hypersonic ground and flight test systems and vehicles. Responsible for internal and external lofting, packaging, and initial thermal-structural sizing. This role combines technical expertise, creativity, and analytical skills to inform design space exploration and generate vehicle designs while adhering to industry standards and project requirements.</p><p>This position is eligible for remote work.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 21.5px;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Lead and/or support in all phases of hypersonic test article and testbed vehicle development to explore and evaluate different configurations while working directly with teammates responsible for aerodynamic, aerothermal and propulsion analyses.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform and/or support initial thermal and structural sizing trades.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform initial packaging studies allocating appropriate volumes for internal components such as guidance electronics, power systems, fuel systems, and actuation systems while considering airframe manufacturing and assembly constraints.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Predict vehicle mass properties in support of vehicle performance analyses.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Preferred Education / Experience:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 21.5px;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in relevant engineering discipline.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">10-15+ years of experience&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">A combination of education and experience equivalent to above&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Specialization in high speed airbreathing propulsion vehicle and test system hardware design</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Working knowledge of mechanical analyses including material trades, thermal analyses, and structural analyses</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Preferred Knowledge / Ability</strong><strong>:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 21.5px;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience with design and analysis of ramjet and scramjet powered test systems and flight test vehicles</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Familiarity with conceptual vehicle layout</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">US citizenship required to obtain/maintain a DOD security clearance</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p></div></div></div></div>\n",
