Description Newport Restaurant Group is looking for a Culinary Intern to join our team! Our restaurants are located throughout Rhode Island and in the Greater Boston, Massachusetts area. Placements will depend on availability and match for the individual intern. About the POSITION: In the internship, you will train as a Line Cook, preparing, seasoning, and cooking soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food for guests. While gaining experience in different stations, interns will also shadow and get additional training and exposure to managerial responsibilities. About YOU : You are passionate about food. You have a strong drive to learn, great organizational skills, and a positive attitude. As a Culinary Intern, you will gain hands-on experience and have the opportunity to learn new stations and techniques. Essential Duties: Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use Prepares meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods Prepares food products as determined by recipe, technique and procedure Compensation and Benefits: Competitive compensation - $19 +++ per hour! 35% discount when dining in our locations ABOUT Newport Restaurant Group: We are proud to be a 100% Employee-Owned Company.
