Who you are: T he Manager, Global Fellowships, oversees the administration, recruitment, and promotion of CIEE’s flagship global fellowship programs, including the Frederick Douglass–Daniel O’Connell (FDDO) Global Internship and the Scan Design Foundation Environmental Sustainability Internship (SCAN). These programs are designed to expand access to global experiential learning and provide high-achieving student leaders with impactful international internship opportunities. The Manager works closely with colleagues across Institutional Relations, Enrollment, Marketing, and Global Operations to ensure strong applicant pipelines, effective internal coordination, and a high-quality participant experience. The role is highly organized, self-directed, and collaborative, with responsibility for managing program processes and communications across multiple internal and external stakeholders. The Manager, Global Fellowships, is accountable for meeting enrollment and institutional engagement targets across CIEE’s global fellowship programs. This role functions as a relationship-based sales position, driving qualified applications and institutional participation through strategic outreach, pipeline management, and performance tracking. The Manager will additionally support future growth by helping design, document, and scale repeatable recruitment, selection, and operational processes that can be applied to new fellowship opportunities as they are introduced. Purpose Of The Fellowships The primary purposes of the FDDO Global Internship and the Scan Design Foundation Environmental Sustainability Internship are to: Expand access to international internships for high financial need students who are historically underrepresented in study abroad, and demonstrate the academic and professional value of global experiential learning; Provide selected fellows with high-impact, career-relevant international internship experiences; and Increase student, campus, and institutional engagement with global internship opportunities through strategic recruitment, communication, and alumni involvement. What you’ll do : Primary Responsibilities Sales and Growth Strategy Own annual application, Scholars Grant, and matching grant targets for all Fellowship Programs. In partnership with Institutional Relations leadership, develop and execute an annual Sales & Marketing strategy to drive student applications and institutional engagement. Develop and deliver training resources for Institutional Relations staff to effectively promote fellowship opportunities. Conduct proactive outreach to high-potential institutions and priority student populations. Use Salesforce and other systems to track leads, applicants, and conversion rates by institution and recruitment channel. Support the expansion of CIEE’s global fellowship portfolio by developing scalable workflows, tools, and best practices. Serve as a subject matter resource for the launch of new fellowship initiatives, ensuring alignment with established recruitment, sales, and operational frameworks. Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and performance as the fellowship portfolio grows. Program Promotion and Communications Support internal and external promotion of fellowship programs through coordinated messaging, digital content, and virtual and campus-based outreach. Collaborate with Marketing on web content, informational materials, and social media engagement related to global fellowships. Collect and curate student stories, testimonials, and outcomes to support recruitment, promotion, and reporting needs. Engage alumni fellows as ambassadors to support recruitment and peer-to-peer outreach efforts. Program Recruitment and Selection Manage and continuously improve application workflows, timelines, and internal review processes to ensure scalability for future programs. Manage the New+ funnel to increase conversion from inquiry to submitted application. Manage the applicant funnel to drive conversion into Scholars Grant participation. Coordinate clear and timely communications with applicants throughout the application, selection, and placement process. Coordinate the internal application review process to identify a shortlist of the most highly qualified candidates on an annual basis. Program Operations and Coordination Serve as the primary operational point of contact for fellows throughout the application and pre-departure process. Coordinate with Global Operations to ensure smooth execution of fellowship logistics. Track participant pre-departure requirements and compliance milestones. Support evaluation efforts by collecting feedback and outcome data from participants and internal stakeholders. Assist in planning and delivering Closing Event activities, including sponsor engagement and student recognition ceremonies. What you’ll bring: The ideal candidate will possess: Bachelor’s degree required. A Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing programs, projects, or sales pipelines within a complex, mission-driven, or international organisation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Teams, OneNote, Salesforce, and web-based platforms, including social media tools. Ability to embrace CIEE’s Core Values (Excellence, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, and Problem Solving) and culture. Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple processes and deadlines simultaneously. Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across diverse teams and stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Cultural awareness and strong interpersonal skills in an international education context. Proactive problem solver with sound judgment and attention to detail.
