This role also supports the Forestry Crew and may involve hauling or operating trailers.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Schedule:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>30 hours per week</li>\n<li>Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday</li>\n<li>Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM</li>\n<li>Schedules may vary based on project needs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise and coordinate tasks for community service volunteers</li>\n<li>Clean and maintain public areas (parks, streets, sidewalks, etc.)</li>\n<li>Assist Forestry Crew with maintenance tasks as needed</li>\n<li>Safely operate hand tools, small equipment, or trailers (experience preferred)</li>\n<li>Maintain the cleanliness and organization of equipment and workspaces</li>\n<li>Report hazards or maintenance issues to supervisors</li>\n<li>Follow all safety guidelines and city procedures</li>\n<li>Support city-sponsored events or cleanup initiatives when required</li>\n<li>Represent the City of Alton in a professional and courteous manner</li>\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be at least 18 years old &amp; currently hold a valid Illinois driver's License throughout the duration of your employment.</li>\n<li>Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions</li>\n<li>Prior experience operating trailers or maintenance equipment is a plus</li>\n<li>Strong communication and leadership skills</li>\n<li>Ability to follow instructions and work independently</li>\n<li>Punctuality and reliability are essential</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><br></span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work Environment and Physical Demands:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Outdoor work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)</li>\n<li>Ability to walk, lift, bend, and stand for extended periods</li>\n<li>Lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed</li>\n<li>Safely operate tools and vehicles in public spaces</li>\n<li>Interact respectfully with the public, volunteers, and city staff</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reports To:</span> Public Works Supervisor or Cleanup Crew Lead</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><br></span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Benefits:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Set weekly schedule (Mon–Thurs or Tues–Fri)</li>\n<li>Contribute to the beautification and improvement of Alton</li>\n<li>Gain experience in maintenance, landscaping, and team leadership</li>\n</ul>",
