ILST assists in recovering skills that have decreased as a result of the onset of a disability. ILST will primarily target individuals with chronic or progressive illnesses to maintain essential skills.</p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><ul><li>Conduct comprehensive functional assessments to identify strengths and weaknesses.</li><li>Provide assessment, training, and supervision to an individual with issues related to self-care, medication management, task completion, communication skills, interpersonal skills, socialization, sensory/motor skills, mobility, community transportation, maladaptive behaviors, problem-solving skills, money management, pre-vocational skills, and skills to maintain a household.</li><li>Provide ILST services as established NHTD and TBI program manual policy and procedures. *Manual is provided at the time of hire.</li><li>Establish a professional relationship with participants and act as an advocate for them to ensure they are receiving appropriate, participant-directed services from providers.</li><li>Attend provider meetings as directed.</li><li>Performs ongoing recruitment via developing relationships to &quot;market&quot; AIM Independent Living Center as an ILST provider.</li></ul><p><strong>Education and Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Be an individual with a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree with three (3) years of experience completing functional-based assessments of ADL and IADLs, developing comprehensive treatment plans, and teaching individuals with disabilities and/or seniors to be more functionally independent or</li><li>Be an individual with an Associate&rsquo;s degree with five (5) years of experience completing functional-based assessments of ADL and IADLs, developing comprehensive treatment plans, and teaching individuals with disabilities and/or seniors to be more functionally independent or</li><li>Licensed Physical Therapist, Licensed Speech Pathologist, Registered Occupational Therapist, Registered Professional Nurse, Certified Teacher of students with disabilities, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor &ndash; Certified by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification, and</li><li>One (1) year of experience completing functional-based assessments of ADL&rsquo;s/IADLs, developing a comprehensive treatment plan, and teaching individuals with disabilities, seniors, and/or Traumatic Brain Injury to be more functionally independent.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Schedule flexibility to include some evenings and the ability to manage a complex workload in various environments.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, writing, and computer skills.</li><li>Ability to effectively interact and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.</li><li>Ability to multitask and work effectively in both a team and individual setting.</li><li>Bilingual proficiency preferred.</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license with satisfactory driving record and reliable transportation.</li><li>Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, stand, walk, carry, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.</li><li>Ability to carry out essential functions of the job without posing a risk or harm to the health and safety of self or others.</li></ul><p>EOE Statement WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
