As an LPN, you will be responsible for delivering care planning and services within the LPN scope of practice. You will provide health teaching, infection prevention support, and participate in client-centered care as part of an integrated, collaborative team. Your responsibilities would include:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performing delegated independent nursing functions within the CLPNA scope of practice for clients with substance use disorder living </li>\n<li>Maintaining and ensuring best practices around infection prevention and control</li>\n<li>Providing health education related to Hepatitis A, B, C, HIV/AIDS, condom usage, nutrition, STBBIs, sanitation, hygiene, and medication management</li>\n<li>Supporting influenza clinics, vaccinations, and Naloxone training</li>\n<li>Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (MSDS, OH&amp;S, WHMIS)</li>\n<li>Developing and participating in comprehensive client care plans</li>\n<li>Demonstrating initiative, critical thinking, decision-making, and triage without direct supervision</li>\n<li>Collaborating with the team in an integrated practice model</li>\n<li>Serving as a role model for Alpha House’s values and acting as a positive ambassador with clients, partners, and the community</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About You</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p>We are looking for an experienced and compassionate LPN to join our Detox team. The ideal candidate would have the following:</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing</li>\n<li>2–3 years’ experience in addictions nursing (preferred)</li>\n<li>Knowledge of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care</li>\n<li>Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook (WOLF EMR an asset)</li>\n<li>Strong time management, multitasking, and critical thinking skills; able to triage with minimal supervision</li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with diplomacy, negotiation, conflict resolution, and empathy</li>\n<li>Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable in challenging situations</li>\n<li>Knowledge of socio-environmental determinants of health, including poverty, mental health, and substance use disorder</li>\n<li>Commitment to ethical practice and thorough understanding of the Protection of Persons in Care Act</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Requirements</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Active registration and good standing with CLPNA/CRNA/CRPNA</li>\n<li>Ability to physically assist clients from prone to sitting/standing positions</li>\n<li>Vulnerable Sector Search (within 6 months) with no disqualifying results<br></li>\n<li>Valid CPR certification preferred</li>\n<li>Ability to obtain FOIP certification, “It’s Your Move” and equivalent patient lift training</li>\n<li>Ability to tolerate strong odors</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About Alpha House</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p>Alpha House is dedicated to providing safe, caring, and respectful environments for individuals dealing with addiction and mental health challenges.
