    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Youth Leader - ELOP</strong></p>\n<p>Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Youth Leader – ELOP is responsible for the direct supervision of program participants, and for the daily planning and implementation of program activities. The Youth Leader collaborates with other team members, families, and school personnel to provide participants with academic support, enrichment activities, and other student programs that increase student skill building, encourage healthy choices and behaviors, promote diversity and equity, support youth voice and leadership, and increase overall academic achievement. The Youth Leader position requires high energy, dedication, patience, and a strong desire to mentor youth, strengthen families, and serve the community.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>For more on Employee Perks, click on this link: Employee Benefits | YMCA of San Diego County (ymcasd.org) </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Schedule:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>M-F 1:25-6:15, with 1 minimum day a week starting at 11:45 (minimum days vary by school site) </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Actively supervise program participants, ensuring their guidance and safety at all times</p></li>\n <li><p>Assist in the planning, management, and implementation of age-appropriate program activities that engage students in active and meaningful experiences</p></li>\n <li><p>Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all participants, families, school and district personnel, and community partners</p></li>\n <li><p>Collaborate with school personnel and program partners to align high quality academic activities and coordinate student services</p></li>\n <li><p>Provide positive behavior guidance that supports the developmental, social-emotional, and physical needs of all students</p></li>\n <li><p>Ensure that program meets the requirements of the school district, and the YMCA of San Diego County</p></li>\n <li><p>Perform daily duties that ensure space is properly maintained, organized, clean, and safe</p></li>\n <li>Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situation </li>\n <li>Physical ability to lead sports, games and curriculum activities, monitor youth behavior, and perform general housekeeping responsibilities </li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned needs to be included to all roles</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma/GED</li>\n <li>Must meet minimum qualifications for a highly qualified Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide in the district in which the assigned school operates; AA/AS degree, 48 college units or passing score on district’s Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide proficiency exam acceptable</li>\n <li>Fingerprint clearance from DOJ/FBI required prior to working</li>\n <li>TB test clearance within 60 days prior to employment or prior to working on a school site</li>\n <li>Completion of Child Abuse Prevention training prior to working with program participants</li>\n <li>CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:\n  <ul>\n   <li>American Red Cross</li>\n   <li>American Heart Association</li>\n   <li>American Safety & Health Institute</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>YMCA will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the San Diego County Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act.
