    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About the Role</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Sydney Health &amp; Care Services (SHCS) is hiring Disability Support Workers to join our Residential care team in Supported Independent Living in Wollongong NSW.<br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">We have Casual shifts available as per below in our SIL homes located in various locations in Wollongong.</span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Successful probation may lead to Part time opportunities.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Physical aggression, Self-injurious Behaviors and multiple restrictive practices:</span></p>\n<p>Monday 2-10pm</p>\n<p>Tuesday 2-10pm</p>\n<p>Thursday 5:45am-11am</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">PEG Feeding trained</span></p>\n<p>Tuesday 7-11pm + inactive/sleepover</p>\n<p>Wednesday 3-7pm</p>\n<p>Friday 7-11pm + inactive/sleepover</p>\n<p>Saturday 7-11pm + inactive/sleepover</p>\n<p> <br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Multiple low-level behaviours (Insulin-trained is a bonus)</span></p>\n<p>Monday 8am - 10am</p>\n<p>Monday 10pm-6am (inactive/sleepover)</p>\n<p>Tuesday 6-10pm + 10pm-6am (inactive/sleepover)</p>\n<p>Wednesday 2pm - 8pm</p>\n<p>Wednesday 10pm-6am (inactive/sleepover)</p>\n<p>Thursday 6-10pm + 10pm-6am(inactive/sleepover)</p>\n<p>Friday 6-10pm</p>\n<p>Saturday 10am-8pm</p>\n<p>Sunday 6-10pm + 10pm-6am (inactive/sleepover)</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Behaviours of concern you must be confident supporting:</span></p>\n<p>This role may involve supporting participants who can display:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">self-injurious behaviours</span> (e.g., head hitting, biting)</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">physical aggression</span> (e.g., grabbing, scratching, striking)</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">property damage</span> (e.g., throwing items, slamming doors)</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">absconding/exit-seeking behaviours</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">sensory-seeking and repetitive behaviours</span></li>\n<li>personal care/hygiene complexities</li>\n<li>PEG Feeding (must requirement)</li>\n<li>Insulin-trained (bonus)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Follow BSP strategies consistently (including Green/Yellow/Red response)</li>\n<li>Use <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">low arousal de-escalation</span> and proactive support strategies</li>\n<li>Provide personal care, hygiene support, and daily living assistance</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Medication administration</span> (Webster packs) and PRN processes as authorised</li>\n<li>Complete clear documentation: shift notes, ABC/behaviour tracking, incident reporting</li>\n<li>Maintain participant dignity, privacy, and professional boundaries</li>\n<li>Escalate concerns through the chain: Team Leader → House Coordinator → ROM (after hours via On-Call)<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What we’re looking for</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>SIL experience and confidence with complex behaviours (highly regarded)</li>\n<li>Strong documentation skills and ability to follow plans precisely</li>\n<li>Medication competency (or willingness to complete competency assessment promptly)</li>\n<li>Calm under pressure, consistent, and respectful communication<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential requirements:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">NDIS Worker Screening Check</span> (or willingness to obtain immediately)</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">National Police Check</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">First Aid + CPR</span> (current)</li>\n<li>Working with children check</li>\n<li>Must have a reliable car that is insured and have NSW Driver's License (Provisional is acceptable)</li>\n<li>Minimum <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Cert IV in Disability / Community Services / Mental Health</span> (or equivalent)</li>\n<li>Unrestricted Australian work rights</li>\n<li>No sponsorship provided</li>\n<li>Two professional references</li>\n</ul>",
