This role serves as a key link between engineering, production, and plant leadership to ensure processes are efficient, and aligned with business objectives. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong><u>WHAT YOU’LL DO</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Directly work with operators on the shop floor to solve tactical day-to-day improvement projects</li>\n <li>Assist Corporate Manufacturing Engineering and Senior Process Engineers with larger projects as required</li>\n <li>Author and maintain work instructions for the shop floor</li>\n <li>Maintain MES system data in plants where applicable (work instructions, material consumption etc.)</li>\n <li>Maintain PFMEAs under supervision of Senior Process Engineer and assist Quality in maintenance of Control Plan</li>\n <li>Participate in Root Cause – Corrective Action exercises for defects that occurred in their assigned area</li>\n <li>Serve as a technical liaison between Production Engineering and Operations</li>\n <li>Assist in manufacturability studies with Production Engineering and Corporate “Core” Engineering</li>\n <li>Purchase of hand tools and small equipment in support of improvement projects</li>\n <li>Design of shop aids and small tooling in support of improvement projects</li>\n <li>Own the process and collaborate with Corporate Manufacturing Engineering on the execution of manufacturing pilots and manufacturing trials to support new product and new process designs</li>\n <li>Train operators on any new processes and process changes</li>\n <li>Collaborate with Operations Supervisors to guide training, both new employees and recurring training in assigned area</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><em>Education:</em>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><em>Experience</em>: 3-8 years of manufacturing experience</li>\n <li><em>Skills</em>:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems</li>\n   <li>Ability to lead a team of Process Engineers</li>\n   <li>Experience in a manufacturing environment</li>\n   <li>Experience with development and management of PFMEA and Control Plans</li>\n   <li>Experience with manufacturability studies</li>\n   <li>Extensive experience with drafting and maintaining work instructions</li>\n   <li>Experience with 2D drafting and 3D modelling (AutoCAD, DraftSight, SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.)</li>\n   <li>Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to effectively communicate with plant management and operators</li>\n   <li>Experience with new product development a plus</li>\n   <li>Analytical problem-solving skills</li>\n   <li>Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles, industry certifications a plus (Lean Specialist, Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.)</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><em>Travel</em>: 15%</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Office and plant environment.</li>\n <li>Keyboarding, lifting, standing, bending, walking.</li>\n <li>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>ABOUT GREAT DANE</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>With a history dating back to 1900, Great Dane has established itself as a transportation solutions leader of today – delivering innovative products and exceptional services that help our customers and employees succeed.
