Belvoir, VA**</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Functional Team Alignment</strong></p>\n<p>The Data Engineer is a core member of the <strong>H2F PMO</strong>, supporting:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Data ingestion, transformation, and integration</li>\n <li>Creation of data pipelines and data services</li>\n <li>Enablement of analytics, AI/ML, and reporting workflows</li>\n <li>Integration of scientific and operational data sources</li>\n <li>Interact with Data Steward responsible for H2FMS systems</li>\n <li>Follow the Data Governance framework established by the office</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Data Pipeline Development & Maintenance</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design, develop, and maintain <strong>data ingestion and transformation pipelines</strong> supporting H2FMS analytics and research use cases.</li>\n <li>Integrate data from multiple sources, including surveys, wearable and performance data, health and injury datasets, and operational systems as directed by the H2FMS Government Lead.</li>\n <li>Ensure pipelines are reliable, scalable, and support downstream analytic and reporting needs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Data Modeling & Storage</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support development of <strong>analytic data models</strong> optimized for dashboarding/reporting and statistical learning using the Army Vantage reporting system.</li>\n <li>Work with data governance staff to ensure data models align with approved data definitions and standards.</li>\n <li>Assist with management of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data used within H2FMS.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Data Stewardship & Governance Execution</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as a designated Data Custodian for assigned data domains, owning the accuracy and completeness of data asset inventories, classifications, and ownership records.</li>\n <li>Execute data governance policies, standards, and procedures established by the Enterprise Data Governance team, applying independent judgment to implement guidelines within the program or business unit context.</li>\n <li>Lead the intake and registration of new data sources into the enterprise data catalog, ensuring metadata, data definitions, and lineage are documented prior to use in analytics or reporting.</li>\n <li>Actively participate in Enterprise Data Governance working groups as a domain representative, contributing engineering and program-level perspective to policy discussions.</li>\n <li>Support periodic governance assessments and audits, leading the collection and preparation of evidence and documentation on behalf of the program or business unit.</li>\n <li>Own the data quality monitoring program for assigned data domains, overseeing coverage across key quality dimensions including completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness, and validity.</li>\n <li>Own and maintain end-to-end metadata records, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation for assigned data assets from source systems through transformation pipelines to analytic and reporting outputs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Analytics & AI/ML Enablement</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Enable data access and preparation for <strong>data scientists, AI/ML engineers</strong>, and other data professionals, ensuring data is usable for modeling and analysis.</li>\n <li>Support feature preparation and data validation activities under Government and senior analytic direction.</li>\n <li>Assist in troubleshooting data-related issues impacting analytics and model development.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Data Quality & Reliability</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support monitoring and resolution of <strong>data quality issues</strong>, including completeness, consistency, and timeliness.</li>\n <li>Implement basic validation, logging, and error-handling mechanisms within data pipelines.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with data governance and analytics teams to address recurring data issues.</li>\n <li>Work within the CPE Data Governance Program.</li>\n <li>Work with the Data Governance Data Steward.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Cross-Team Collaboration</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with epidemiologists, research psychologists, and tactical sports scientists to understand analytic data needs.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with software teams to support integration between data services and application components.</li>\n <li>Support documentation and communication of data pipeline designs and dependencies.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor of science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience building and maintaining <strong>data pipelines and data integration solutions</strong>.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with data transformation, storage, and analytics enablement concepts.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of core data governance concepts including data stewardship, metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage, and data quality dimensions.</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience building or maintaining data quality dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.</li>\n <li>Experience working with unstructured, structured, and semi-structured data.</li>\n <li>Proficient in programming languages python, java, and SQL</li>\n <li>Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams spanning analytics, research, and software.</li>\n <li>Strong problem-solving and communication skills with ability to operate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.</li>\n <li><strong>Active DoD Secret clearance.</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure.</li>\n <li>Experience supporting analytics or research-driven data environments.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with cloud-based data services or analytics platforms.</li>\n <li>Experience preparing data for dashboards, reporting, or AI/ML workflows.</li>\n <li>Prior experience supporting <strong>DoW or federal customers</strong>.</li>\n <li>Secret Clearance is required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Location & Travel</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Duty Location:</strong> On site at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia.</li>\n <li><strong>Travel:</strong> Limited travel to Ft. Detrick, Ft.
