Description SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for the research, development, and execution of processes, projects, and programs supporting Fleet Operations. The incumbent provides analytical and operational support to Fleet Management by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data, as well as maintaining business processes, procedures, and policies. Key responsibilities include administration of fleet-related systems such as the Fleet Management Information System (FMIS/AssetWorks), FuelMaster, and GPS platforms; compiling and analyzing management reports and key performance indicators (KPIs); and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. The position also provides training to Fleet staff and customers on system usage, conducts forklift training as required, and assists leadership with statistical analysis, budget preparation, expense tracking, and policy development. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Fleet Manager and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Performs related duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ensures compliance with safety policies and procedures; supports a safe work environment with no lost-time incidents. Contributes to departmental and divisional goals, long-range planning, and annual work programs. Promotes positive employee relations and addresses workplace concerns in collaboration with leadership. Maintains high standards of productivity, accuracy, and quality of work; identifies issues and recommends solutions. Compiles, analyzes, and maintains data; prepares accurate and timely reports and maintains records. Effectively manages assigned projects, deadlines, and priorities; communicates conflicts to management as needed. Responds to internal and external customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner. Collaborates with other departments, divisions, and external agencies to support operational objectives. Communicates relevant information to appropriate stakeholders to ensure coordination and alignment. Coordinates time away from the workstation to ensure minimal disruption to departmental operations. EQUIPMENT OPERATED Computer, calculator, service vehicle, communication devices, and other equipment as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Working knowledge of fleet operations, safety regulations, and organizational procedures. Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management practices, and fleet-related systems. Proficiency in database and spreadsheet applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and reporting tools. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop meaningful reports and recommendations. Ability to compile, analyze, and present data effectively, including supporting statistical findings. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, and external stakeholders. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Option A: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, or an associate degree from an accredited technical or community college in business, management, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, and a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in business or financial operations. Experience must include statistical analysis, program or project implementation, and use of databases/spreadsheets to develop reports and recommendations. Option B: High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience as described above. Option C: An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
