    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\">Our mission at Oaks Church is to see lives changed and made new through the love we show in and through our work. Our facilities department supports this mission by providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Along with great customer service.</p><p>The Maintenance Assistant will perform general maintenance and repair of building structure, grounds, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout the campus. Also Assist with maintenance of campus and support our ministries, faculty, and custodial team.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Results &amp; Outcomes</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\">&bull; Support the Facilities Director and Supervisors.</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Maintain a clean and safe environment</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Respond to the facility needs of both Oaks Church and Life School.</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Aid in the resolution of all maintenance needs.</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Assist in proactively addressing safety issues on campus.</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Assist in general upkeep and appearance of property.</p><p>&bull; Respond to additional directives from supervisors as needed.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities &amp; Duties</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><u>Maintenance and Repair</u></p><p>&bull; Assist skilled workers with repair and maintenance of facilities, including repairing woodwork; replacing electrical switches, fixtures, and motors; painting, repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems; and replacing broken glass.</p><p>&bull; Inspect building exterior and interior, playground equipment, and grounds; perform maintenance and minor repairs, including small trash and landscaping maintenance.</p><p>&bull; Detect and report needed major repairs on building structures and all their systems, including doors, furniture, and equipment.</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Complete repairs as requested on work orders or as directed by supervisors.</p><p>&bull; Assist with maintaining the exterior property and grounds (weed pulling, trash pickup, operating small power equipment and irrigation maintenance as needed).</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Assist with relocation of furnishings, such as desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc.</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Move, install, assemble, and repair all school furniture and playground equipment as needed.</p><p>&bull; Hang pictures, mirrors, blackboards, bulletin boards, projection screens, towel dispensers, soap dispensers, televisions, and other items as required.</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Install door and window assemblies and hardware, including window glass and screens.</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Install ceiling and flooring materials as needed</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Install lighting fixtures and bulbs as needed.</p><p><u>Driving</u></p><p>&bull; Operate light truck to transport furniture and equipment, while following church protocol for vehicle operations and State laws while operating any vehicle.</p><p><u>Safety</u></p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Operate equipment and use tools following established safety procedures.</p><p>&bull; Demonstrate proficiency with power tools and safety practices to prevent damages and injury.&bull; Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.</p><p>&bull; Correct unsafe conditions in the area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Maintain tools and equipment and perform preventive maintenance as required.</p><p>&bull; Treat Church property and equipment with a high level of respect to prevent damage and/or injury.</p><p>&bull; Complete daily maintenance and repair reports for assigned area as directed.</p><p id=\"isPasted\">&bull; Assume Shift Lead responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Experience Required</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\">&bull; 1 year experience in general building maintenance</p><p id=\"isPasted\">&bull; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred but not required.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Specific Job Skills&nbsp;</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\">&bull; Ability to follow verbal and written instructions</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Ability to communicate effectively</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Ability to operate hand and power tools</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Ability to work independently</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Exposure to heights up to 100ft</p><p>&bull; Use of ladders and powered lift equipment</p><p><br></p><p><strong>General Expectations</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\">&bull; Punctual and Presentable</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Detail oriented and self-initiated</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Always provide excellent customer service including fellow staff.</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Must be willing to learn and train others</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Self-motivated and Proactive</p><p>&bull; Positive attitude and team mentality</p><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\">This is a full-time hourly position and will require up to 40 hours per week.</p></div></div></div>\n",
