Description
Principal Function: The Kitchen Staff are responsible for assisting in the preparation, production, organization, and cleanliness of all food operations within the kitchen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
Prepare, cook, assemble, and expedite food items according to established recipes and standards.
Assist in receiving, storing, rotating, and organizing food products and supplies.
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation throughout service.
Understand and adhere to all food handling, safety, and sanitation standards during preparation, service, and cleanup procedures.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance needs.
Perform end-of-day cleaning tasks including dishwashing, equipment breakdown and cleaning, sweeping, mopping, waste removal, and restocking.
Assist with special event setup, including moving kitchen equipment, prepping ingredients, and completing additional tasks as assigned.
Support a positive guest experience by ensuring high-quality food production and representing Conner Prairie with pride and professionalism.
Adhere to Conner Prairie’s rules of conduct.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience: Experience in a kitchen, food service, or hospitality environment is preferred but not required. Working knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen procedures is preferred. A valid food handler certification is also preferred; if not already certified, candidates must be willing to obtain certification upon hire.

Conner Prairie is generally open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, this position will be required to work beyond these hours and when open for special events.
