Description
Under the direct supervision of the Supervision Manager, the Site Supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight of a licensed childcare center consisting of more than one classroom, including the implementation of comprehensive, cross-component services delivered to NCS families enrolled at the site. AA degree and Site Supervisor permit required.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision and Training
Establishes andmaintainsa supportive work environment for all staff in the site through positive and direct communication and team building activities. Ensures California Community Care Licensing requirements arealways metincluding: Maintaining current site personnel and child files and rosters Maintaining up to date postings asrequired Ensuring proper ratios adult to child ratios are maintained Ensuring children are visually supervised Communicating site maintenance needs to the Facilities Supervisor. In collaboration with other NCS management staff,developsstrategies for quality guidance, training, and support of NCS field staff for the effective implementation of integrated program services. Develops and implements a plan of supervision that includes regular observation and feedback of staffand classrooms. Assistsstaff in the assessment of the needs of children and their families andfacilitatescase conferencing with coordinators, other field staff, or community agencies as needed. Reviews, monitors, and ensurescomplianceofrequired paperwork from staffatthe site.Ensures that correct processes are being followed; that paperwork is complete,accurate, andtimely; and that follow-up is completed in all program areas. Conducts performance reviews and goal reviews on all supervised staff within requiredtime framesand reviews performance reviews and goals for all staff at the site. Is responsible fortheidentification of staff training needs within thesite.Facilitates training or refers staff to theappropriate managementstaff for training. Monitors staff in-service participation. In collaboration with Staff Development Director, and Center Teacher whenappropriate,makesplans and monitors followthrough ofstaff personnel issues. Facilitates regularteam meetingsfor all staff at the center. Monitorsappropriate supervisionof all staff, including volunteers, at the site. Assistsstaff in the development ofappropriateand professional relationships and boundaries with the families they serve. Supports staff in the implementation of NCS chosen curriculum. Performs other duties as assigned. Program Management
Provides leadership in conveying the mission andobjectivesof NCSand models a strength-based approach to communication, supervision,teamworkand support. Acts as a vital link between NCS management staff and field staffin order topromote effective communication, understanding and positive relationships and teamwork. Facilitates hiring of site staff as needed. Attends regularsupervisionteam meetings, committee meetings, and Policy Council meetings as required. Community Development
1. In collaboration with other NCS staff, is responsible for contributing to the development of positive local and community partnerships.
2. Develops relationships that facilitate quality services between the HS/EHS and NCS program and other community programs. Takes a key role in working toward resolution of cross program issues that may arise.
3. Attends local and out of town meetings as required by the needs of the program.
