Description

Department Overview The full-time annual base salary range for this position is $685,000-$850,992; commensurate with experience and rank. Base pay does not include incentive pay, hiring bonuses, or additional benefits such as retirement contributions. The Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) is recognized as a top integrated center for cardiovascular clinical care, translational research and professional training in all aspects of heart and vascular disease. Guided by a multi-disciplinary approach, researchers and clinicians drive a vibrant translational research program, which focuses on delivering the latest knowledge and cutting edge care to patients. Specifically, research at KCVI seeks to improve patient outcomes by achieving earlier diagnosis of disease, more accurate monitoring of its progression, and tailoring therapy to the molecular basis of disease. Function/Duties of Position Clinical: You will work clinically as an interventional cardiologist with focus on structural heart disease and spend an average of two (2) days a week in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, with a focus on transcathteter Aortic valve replacement, Left atrial appendage closure and mitral and tricuspid interventions. The future candidate is expected to play a major leadership role in the TAVR program including procedures, clinical research and education to the structural fellows. You are expected to cover your fair share of interventional call (weeknights, weekends, and holidays) and clinic. Additional clinical work will be assigned as needed. Education: You are expected to spend a portion of your time on education-related activities. You will be expected to participate in the development of an interventional cardiology fellowship at OHSU and have the trainees participate in your valvular heart disease program. Required Qualifications Licensed MD with an active Oregon license upon hire. Board Certified in Cardiology, board eligible/certified in Interventional Cardiology. DEA certification as well as current BCLS and ACLS certification. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working in an academic health facility would be preferred. Ideal candidate will have expertise in complex coronary and structural heart disease procedures. Preferred individual should also be capable in valvuloplasty, percutaneous valve implantation, ASD/PFO, perivalvular leak, and post-MI VSD closures, alcohol septal ablation, and implantation of percutaneous ventricular assist devices.
