    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Core Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p>The Director of Donor Development &amp; Relations will report directly to the President of the Library Foundation of Hancock County and work closely with the Executive Director of the Hancock County Library System.</p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Donor Stewardship (Engagement, Fundraising, and Data Management)</span></li>\n</ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and implement structured ways for the community to give to the Library Foundation.</li>\n<li>Develop systems and processes for donor recognition and stewardship.</li>\n<li>Maintain donor records and tracking systems.</li>\n<li>Oversee the publication of the quarterly newsletter, <em>The Connection</em>.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Event Coordination </span></li>\n</ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Holiday Tree Gala: serve as the lead coordinator for the Library Foundation’s annual Holiday Tree Gala. Coordinate sponsorship development, donor engagement, and event fundraising strategies. Collaborate with volunteers, staff, and Foundation leadership on event planning and execution for the Gala.</li>\n<li>Lead donor stewardship and follow up efforts connected to all events.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Grant Writing</span></li>\n</ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Pursue grants to support the Hancock County Library System.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Second Line Used Bookstore Management</span></li>\n</ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the daily operations, vision, growth, and community engagement of the Second</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Line Used Bookstore.</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate and lead bookstore volunteers.</li>\n<li>Develop and implement creative ideas to expand bookstore visibility, engagement, and revenue generation.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications &amp; Personal Attributes</span></p>\n<p>Ideal candidates will demonstrate:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.</li>\n<li>An outgoing and welcoming personality.</li>\n<li>Confidence engaging with community leaders, donors, sponsors, and volunteers.</li>\n<li>Strong communication and storytelling abilities.</li>\n<li>Creativity, initiative, and strategic thinking.</li>\n<li>Ability to organize projects, events, and multiple priorities.</li>\n<li>High emotional intelligence and professionalism.</li>\n<li>Passion for libraries, literacy, education, and community engagement.</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently while also collaborating with staff, volunteers, and Foundation leadership.</li>\n<li>Comfort participating in networking events, Chamber events, and community activities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, sponsorship sales, marketing, volunteer coordination, retail management, community engagement, or relationship management is preferred.</p>",
