Due to program requirements, this particular position needs to be filled by a person with a disability\n<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p><strong>PRIDE Industries</strong> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Description</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job:</strong> HVAC Tech I </p>\n<p><strong>Job Code:</strong><strong> </strong> R30 - BL-HVAC Tech I</p>\n<p><strong>SCA </strong><strong>Occup</strong><strong>:</strong> 23410 Heating, Ventilation, and AC Mechanic</p>\n<p><strong>Salary Grade: </strong>Federal Wage Determination or Collective Bargaining Agreement </p>\n<p><strong>FLSA Status:</strong><strong> </strong> Non-Exempt</p>\n<p><strong>Approval Date:</strong><strong> </strong> March 2019</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>SUPERVISES:</strong> </p>\n<p>There are no direct reports with this position. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY:  </strong> </p>\n<p>Under general supervision, The HVAC I (Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning) I technician performs various technical work repairing, replacement, and installation of HVAC equipment to include furnaces, heat pumps, package units, split systems, ranging from residential HVAC/R equipment to light commercial equipment. Duties also consist on performing maintenance and being knowledgeable on the fundamentals of refrigeration equipment. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>TYPICAL DUTIES: </strong> </p>\n<p>1. *Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various residential and light commercial HVAC equipment. </p>\n<p>2. *Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape. </p>\n<p>3. *Utilize skills in plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and refrigeration systems. </p>\n<p>4. *Observe and interpret refrigeration pressures and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to ensure proper operation. Able to perform recovery and vacuum. </p>\n<p>5. *Test joints and connections for gas leaks. </p>\n<p>6. *Wrap pipes in insulation batting and secures them in place. </p>\n<p>7. *Replace defective Controls, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units. </p>\n<p>8. Repair and replace residential and light commercial evaporative A/C units. </p>\n<p>9. *Repair and replace residential and light commercial heating systems. </p>\n<p>10. * Ensure PRIDE safety policies and procedures are followed. </p>\n<p>11. *Respond to EMERGENCY calls after work hours. </p>\n<p>12. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>* </strong>Denotes<strong> </strong>Essential Job Function </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</strong> </p>\n<p>- One to three years of field experience servicing residential and light commercial HVAC equipment; </p>\n<p>- Able to use industry hand and machine tools (i.e. vacuum pumps, refrigeration gauges); </p>\n<p>- Ability to read, interpret and work from schematics and written instructions; </p>\n<p>- Proficient in electrical trouble shooting (i.e. single phase and three phase motors, compressors, contactors, relays and sensors)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:</strong> </p>\n<p>Not Applicable</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>CERTIFICATES REQUIRED: </strong> </p>\n<p>The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>EPA Certification</p>\n<p>R410A Safety</p>\n<p>Valid Driver's License</p>\n<p><strong> </strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: </strong> </p>\n<p>Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> • Maneuvering to, in, and around equipment. </p>\n<p>• Bending, kneeling, stooping and reaching. </p>\n<p>• Climbing steps tools or ladders. </p>\n<p>• Lifting and moving heavy equipment up to 35 pounds. </p>\n<p>• Climbing ladders to gain access to roof top equipment</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT: </strong> </p>\n<p><strong> </strong>Work is performed at a customer’s location in office, shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment. May require driving to and from worksite locations. Equipment can be located in crawl spaces, rooftops, and outside facility.
