This position will include travel and field related work. Great opportunity at a growing non-profit agency for the right candidate. Help us grow our Housing Retention Services in Suffolk County.&nbsp; This is accomplished by performing the following functions:</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Respond to referrals via HMIS and collaborate with referring agencies to collect and upload client eligibility information.</li>\n\t<li>Prepare initial, annual, and interim income certifications as outlined by Suffolk County&rsquo;s HUD CoC funded programs.</li>\n\t<li>Work with new clients, including initial discussions, completion of all intake forms and review of financial documents. &nbsp;Execute basic math skills.</li>\n\t<li>Contact all participating households at least once every three months regarding moves, changes in household composition or monthly income, budgeting issue and supportive services.</li>\n\t<li>Responsible for all required reporting and compliance &ndash; cases must be managed in accordance with New York State requirements; including database and file management.</li>\n\t<li>Experience working with clients experiencing homelessness/residing in shelter.</li>\n\t<li>Knowledge of the local housing market and available resources.</li>\n\t<li>Conduct annual unit inspections to ensure housing quality standards are met for potential participants.</li>\n\t<li>Contact landlords to mediate Housing Quality Standard issue, lease renewal and potential client repayment plans.</li>\n\t<li>Connect clients with needed and available community resources. Follow-up with clients and agencies as appropriate to document use/success of the referral.</li>\n\t<li>Maintain up-to -date records in AWARDS and HMIS. Document all interactions in a clear and concise manner.</li>\n\t<li>Establish good working relationships with referring agencies.</li>\n\t<li>Represent the company with community outreach and events.</li>\n\t<li>Remain up to date with industry standards and increase professional and technical skills through continuing education annually</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">WHAT DO I NEED?</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li><strong>Education:</strong>&nbsp; Bachelors&#39; Degree in a related field preferred. Extensive experience may be substituted for educational requirement.</li>\n\t<li><strong>Experience:</strong>&nbsp; Basic knowledge and understating of federal, state and local homeless and housing programs and rental subsidies.</li>\n\t<li><strong>Communication:</strong>&nbsp; Excellent verbal and written communication skills. &nbsp;Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish} is a plus.</li>\n\t<li><strong>Computer Skills</strong>:&nbsp; Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, and on the Internet. Math Skills: Must be excellent.</li>\n\t<li><strong>Physical Performance</strong>:&nbsp; Walking upstairs, driving, and set up conference rooms.</li>\n\t<li><strong>Reasoning Ability</strong>:&nbsp; Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls.</li>\n\t<li><strong><u>Other Skills</u></strong>:&nbsp; Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details.
