You'll be given opportunities to apply and refine your skills and will be expected to deliver results, contributing to the BHN technical community.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This position can be located in either Pleasanton, CA or Coppell, TX.</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>You will build different parts of our payment network, that have high scale, precision and availability requirements. You will be part of a world class team delivering awesome features to Blackhawk consumers and partners.  You will stretch the limits of backend technologies to deliver functionality. You will be constantly leveraging cutting edge technologies on the cloud, and application stacks to build efficient systems. You will be an awesome team player that can learn and coach simultaneously.  You will learn to innovate. You will build relationships with the world's best payments systems while you help them realize their visions. Your work will play an essential part in how developers build state of the art payment experiences that consumers love.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Write clean, reusable code that’s easier to read and test.</li>\n <li>Build products that perform, scale, are highly available and fault tolerant with automated failover capabilities.</li>\n <li>Operate and scale a rapidly growing product that is vital to our partners.</li>\n <li>Contribute novel ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and improve Blackhawk systems.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with product architects, product owners, and other stakeholders to create great product requirements.</li>\n <li>Mentor team members on good coding practices and patterns</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience.</li>\n <li>4+ years of solid programming experience building distributed systems using java technologies.<strong> Expert in Core Java 11 or above.</strong></li>\n <li>Hands-on experience in using relational database with good exposure to SQL<strong>.</strong></li>\n <li>Experience in Spring framework.</li>\n <li>Strong computational skills, fluent in <strong>data structures, algorithms and design patterns.</strong></li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of computing concepts such as service-oriented architecture, REST services, fault tolerance, self-healing, network protocols, network programming, multi-threaded programming, performance, reliability, scalability, and security.</li>\n <li>Ability to differentiate good and bad design and coding practices.</li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li>\n <li>Strong in self-direction, problem solving and critical thinking.</li>\n <li>Deep passion for providing high quality customer experiences.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with the whole <strong>web stack</strong>, including protocols.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including RDS and EC2.</li>\n <li>Experience with container-based application development using Docker/Kubernetes.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>We seek candidates who not only demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in emerging technologies but have also successfully implemented and utilized AI tools to enhance their work, improve processes, or deliver measurable results.
