This includes Stores/Inventory Accounting, Month end closing process, the development of analytic procedures to validate transactions, Regulatory Rate filings, Accounts Payable processing, and other accounting activities related to the Nuclear Plant.<br><br>Please Note: This position is posted in a range, and an offer will be made based on the candidate's qualifications.<p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job Description</b></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p><b>What You&#39;ll Do:</b></p><ul><li>Perform general ledger accounting functions, including journal entry process development and review, general ledger reconciliations.</li><li>Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.  Review data requests from internal and external auditors and provide feedback to management.</li><li>Develop and cultivate positive business relationships between Accounting and other Nuclear/AEP business partners.</li><li>Support Accounts Payable Invoice Processing by reviewing invoices for proper accounting and submitting for approval</li><li>Proactively assess, develop, and enhance Accounting processes and procedures on a continuous basis.</li><li>Participate in special projects, as requested.</li><li>Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the AEP Corporate Compliance policy.</li><li>Knowledge of FERC and Regulatory Accounting concepts and principles – specifically as it applies to the Nuclear plant accounts and concepts.</li><li>Support the Nuclear Plant in an Outage role or Non-Traditional Outage position as needed.</li><li>Ability to provide support for the Nuclear plant in Labor Time Entry and Payroll processes.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What We&#39;re Looking For:</b></p><p><b>Nuclear Accounting Analyst/ Salary Grade 6 ($74,551</b><b> - $93,188):</b></p><p>Education:</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree Preferred in Accounting or related field.</li></ul><p></p><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>0 – 5 years&#39; experience.</li><li>Support Nuclear Plant Emergency Response Organization.</li></ul><p></p><p>Other Requirements:</p><ul><li>Strong competency in written and oral communication.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience using SQL.</li><li>Detail oriented with an ability to employ a logical approach to accomplish objectives and solve issues.</li><li>Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions and adapt to changing circumstances and requirements.</li><li>Ability to work as part of a team and possess excellent time management and organization skills.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Nuclear Accounting Analyst, Senior</b><b>/ Salary Grade 7 ($87,633 - $109,544):</b></p><p>Education:</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree Required in Accounting or related field.</li></ul><p></p><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>5 – 10 years’ experience</li><li>Support Nuclear Plant Emergency Response Organization.</li><li>Understand the role of a Nuclear Professional and how to support it</li></ul><p></p><p>Other Requirements:</p><ul><li>Strong competency in written and oral communication.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience using SQL to design custom queries.</li><li>Detail oriented with an ability to employ a logical approach to accomplish objectives and solve issues.</li><li>Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions and adapt to changing circumstances and requirements.</li><li>Ability to work as part of a team and possess excellent time management and organization skills.</li><li>Prior experience in Nuclear or Utility industry</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Must establish and maintain a permanent residence within a 45-minute safe drive time to the D.C.
