Our clients include the Massachusetts Port Authority (MassPort) and Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA).</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>This field-based position functions as the construction project lead responsible for managing a project team consisting of construction inspectors, office engineers and other support staff, working collectively to ensure all construction project work is performed in accordance with the contract documents.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Primary responsibilities include;</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>· Ensure all project work is performed on schedule, on budget, according to plans and quality standards provided by the contract specifications.</p>\n<p>· Ensure all work operations adhere to approved work safety plans and environmental permits.</p>\n<p>· Must be able to work closely with the client authority, design consultants, stakeholders and contractors to mitigate operational impacts and ensure all project needs are met timely and effectively.</p>\n<p>· Monitor and maintain project CPM schedules and milestones, identify, and mitigate risk.</p>\n<p>· Evaluate contractor pay requisitions, ensure accuracy of billing, timely process approval of payment.</p>\n<p>· Prepare Change Orders, evaluate extra work requests, perform engineering cost analysis to support negotiations.</p>\n<p>· Analyze and evaluate constructability issues and provide effective solutions.</p>\n<p>· Coordinate with the contractor and stake holders to mitigate scheduling conflicts, and delays.</p>\n<p>· Lead project progress, coordination, and other incidental meetings.</p>\n<p>· Ensure the client is informed and kept current on project progress and all project issues.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:</p>\n<p>Considerable knowledge of civil construction work practices and principles utilized on complex facility, highway and bridge construction projects; skill and ability to analyze and evaluate constructability issues and provide effective solutions; considerable technical skills and understanding of CPM schedules, preparation of engineering and administrative reports; strong leadership skills and ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications – General Experience:</p>\n<p>Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field is preferred.</p>\n<p>Ten (10) years of civil construction work experience, new commercial building construction or equivalent setting.</p>\n<p>Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) registered in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts</p>\n<p>Must be able to lead and manage CE&I project staff, ensure all aspects of project work are accounted for.</p>\n<p>Must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications:</p>\n<p>· Experience working on MassPort or MBTA projects</p>\n<p>· Experience utilizing PMWeb Project Management Information System software</p>\n<p>· Experience using Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, SharePoint, Compass, and AASHTOWare software</p>\n<p>· Experience with construction MEP and fire protection systems</p>\n<p>· ACI Certification</p>\n<p>· NETTCP Concrete</p>\n<p>· NETTCP HMA Paving</p>\n<p>· NETTCP Soils and Aggregate</p>\n<p>· ATSSA Traffic Control Technician</p>\n<p>· OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety and Health</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Special Requirements:</p>\n<p>· Candidate shall be required to possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and auto insurance.</p>\n<p>· Candidate must have reliable transportation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Physical Requirements:</p>\n<p>Must be able to perform work year-round in varied weather conditions, and during off-hours and weekends when necessary.</p>\n<p>Candidate shall have adequate physical ability and shall maintain such for proper continuation of job performance.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Working Conditions:</p>\n<p>Must be able to perform work year-round in varied weather conditions, and during off-hours and weekends when necessary.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Qualified candidates must email resumes to [email protected].</p>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<p>M&J is a leader in providing quality engineering consulting services to a diverse and exciting client base.
