Work Location 9820 Leavenworth Rd, Kansas City, KS 66109 Job Overview The Evening Controls Technician will assume advanced tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot all electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment, including PLC controls. This position is responsible for analyzing equipment to troubleshoot problems and making any necessary repairs to electrical, mechanical or PLC programming changes related to production reliability. Our air-conditioned facility is just one way we support your wellness. We provide health insurance on day one of employment, paid time off and holidays, and your own company-funded well-being account that can be used in many ways to help you feel happy and healthy. *This position will train on the day shift for up to 2 months before transitioning into the evening shift. Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday (OT on Fridays as needed) 4:00pm - 2:00am Highlights of your role Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards , problems and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components. Proficiently use ladder logic programming with experience in the Allen Bradley platform based programming, including RS Logix 500 and 5000. Work efficiently with work order system (EAM) to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant. Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components. Discusses performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff. Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices. Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions. Use basic Servo Controls (open and closed loop systems) and set up variable frequency drive operations and parameters. Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors. Works closely with the Custom Equipment Process Group (CEPG) on machine improvements. Will have the skills to properly use a digital multimeter. Works closely with maintenance and is able to assist with troubleshooting electrical problems and able to provide PLC-support across the plant. Concisely and accurately documents set-points and parameters for equipment. You're a good fit if you have (or if you can) 2-years experience in a closely related role is required Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Enterprise Asset Management software experience and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs proficiently We invite you to See Yourself at Marvin From people to products, Marvin is committed to creating better ways of living.
