(ESi) is a multidisciplinary engineering and scientific investigation and failure analysis firm. We primarily work with law firms, insurance companies, and manufacturers on small to large-scale projects to answer any technical questions they have. As a firm, our projects can entail investigating major transportation accidents, equipment failures, personal injury claims, and damage to residential or commercial structures.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>About This Role</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assist in performing analysis, research, and calculations. Prepare reports on regulatory, standards, and investigative related consulting projects. Work under direction of other engineers on the activities of large- and small- scale client projects involving mechanical engineering issues and related technical subjects in support of industrial consulting projects, insurance investigations, litigation analysis and support. Experience with product engineering and component design a plus.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Key Responsibilities:&nbsp;</u></strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Conducts and directs field investigations as needed.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performs engineering analysis, calculations, and research.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Work with clients to assess their objectives, perform fundamental mechanical analysis for a wide array of applications and industries, document analysis findings in reports and make presentations to clients.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Executes tests and analysis in support of scientific investigations and experiments.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Conduct engineering analysis and technical investigations pertaining to mechanical systems and equipment.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Creates well-developed and well- prepared client presentations.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Prepares technical reports, provides professional opinions and advice for clients, or others.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Directs and coordinates project activities and personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Reviews, or in some cases formulates status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Work effectively within a multidisciplinary consultancy team.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Education Requirements</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, required&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, preferred</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Experience Requirements</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Minimum 1-5 years of forensic/failure analysis experience.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Registered mechanical professional engineer (P.E.) or possess the ability to become registered in next 2-4 years.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Computer Skills</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Familiarity with various pre- and post- processing software tools.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Expertise in either commercial solvers or programming languages used for high performance computing (MATLAB, C, C++, Python).</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Other Skills/Abilities or Other Qualifications</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience with product engineering and components a plus.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Knowledge of fundamental computational methods (Finite Element Analysis and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics).</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience and/or interest in design analysis fuel gasses product engineering fluids machine safeguarding/OSHA safety materials.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills (required).</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to interact with clients in a professional manner and develop business both internally and externally.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be able to work or travel on weekends and holidays as required.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
