Service Technician - Early Careers

Our consulting group provides a full array of commissioning services for both new and existing buildings, and our technical services group provides start-up services on complex HVAC equipment from a wide range of manufacturers. The MIH team consists of experienced industry-leading professionals, focused on logistical, energy and cost-effective solutions to our clients. We are seeking a motivated and reliable HVAC Service Technician - Apprentice to join our MIH team. This entry-level role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in HVAC service and maintenance. The apprentice will work under the supervision of experienced technicians, gaining hands-on experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems in residential and/or commercial settings. Key Responsibilities Assist senior technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment Learn to diagnose basic mechanical and electrical issues under supervision Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as filter changes, cleaning components, and checking system performance Safely handle tools, equipment, and materials according to company and OSHA guidelines Maintain accurate service documentation and job reports Communicate professionally with customers and team members Load/unload materials and maintain a clean, organized work area Participate in training programs, certification courses, and on-the-job learning Follow company policies, safety standards, and job schedules Qualifications Completion of an HVAC technical school or apprenticeship program Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in the HVAC trade Ability to work in various environments (heat, cold, confined spaces, ladders, rooftops) Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Basic hand tools preferred; willingness to acquire additional tools over time Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team Compensation: $22 - $25 depending on skill, plus benefits MIH Systems Group provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
