As the state&rsquo;s federally designated organ recovery organization and an accredited tissue bank, we are dedicated to making a profound impact on countless lives.</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>The Import &amp; Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing all organ offers to local transplant centers, and the logistics associated with the import process. In addition, the Import &amp; Logistics Coordinator is responsible for all internal and external TxJet flight requests. This is a night shift position, working 8 am to 8 pm including two weekends per month. Responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Managing import offers for heart, lungs, liver, pancreas, intestine and kidneys for local transplant centers</li><li>Responding to offers within the OPTN guidelines</li><li>Screening organ offers against established decline criteria</li><li>Clearly presenting primary offers to local transplant centers</li><li>Effectively communicating physician&rsquo;s requests to host Organ Procurement<br>&nbsp;Organizations (OPOs)</li><li>Coordinating flight and ground transportation for import organs, INDN staff and<br>&nbsp;transplant staff</li><li>Arranging flyouts for organs, effectively coordinating appropriate timelines with transplant coordinators and transplant physicians involved</li><li>Providing services to both internal and external customers in relation to TxJet requests</li></ul><p>At this time, we are taking applications for both day and night shifts. This team has a 12-hour schedule from 8:00 to 8:00. The days of the week rotate and require every other weekend, with three shifts one week and four shifts the next.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Who We&rsquo;re Looking For</strong></p><p><strong>Candidate must meet one of the following minimum prerequisites:</strong></p><ul><li>Completion of an advanced degree in Transplantation &amp; Donation Science</li><li>Registered Nurse</li><li>Certified Paramedic</li><li>Registered Respiratory Therapist</li><li>Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) with current ABTC certification</li><li>An equivalent amount of OPO experience in a clinical setting and a High School</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;Desired knowledge, skills and abilities include:</strong></p><ul><li>&nbsp;General understanding of disease processes and how they affect organ function</li><li>Extensive knowledge of medical terminology</li><li>Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology</li><li>Ability to interpret lab values, chest x-rays and CT results to recognize abnormalities and to appropriately treat abnormal values</li><li>Ability to read and follow checklists, procedures and provide direction to other staff</li><li>Ability to effectively communicate and interact with nurses, physicians,<br>&nbsp;hospital/transplant professionals, and Indiana Donor Network employees</li><li>Ability to remain calm in stressful situations</li><li>Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously</li><li>Skill in charting, including ability to accurately enter data into an online system<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits &amp; Perks</strong></p><ul><li>At Indiana Donor Network, we believe in taking care of our team members.
