Job Description
As the Early Childhood Lead at All Saints' Episcopal School, you will take on a leadership role in providing young students with a strong foundation for their educational journey. Your expertise in early childhood education, dedication to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, and nurturing approach will guide our students toward a successful start in their educational path.
Job Responsibilities
Collaborate, plan, and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with divisional goals and standards.
Create engaging lesson plans and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and exploration.
Encourage early literacy, numeracy, social skills, and emotional well-being among students.
Provide individualized support and guidance to students as needed.
Assess and monitor student progress and adapt instruction accordingly.
Maintain a well-organized, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
Provide a structured yet flexible daily routine that promotes a positive learning environment and manages transitions smoothly.
Reinforce classroom rules and promote responsible behavior through divisional initiatives such as 20 Simple Lessons.
Manage classroom materials and resources effectively.
Serve as the primary point of contact for families, providing frequent updates and building a community of trust.
Document student learning including preparation of written conference reports.
Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress through developmental milestones connected to academic and social-emotional growth.
Collaborate with parents and, if needed, with an on-campus therapist to support students' learning and development.
Stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Participate in training, professional development, and In-Service opportunities to enhance skills and growth.
Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive and supportive division and School.
Supervise and mentor assistant teacher and floaters, ensuring the whole team is aligned with divisional and school-wide goals.
Attend required divisional meetings, professional development, and school-required In-Service.
Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
Significant prior experience teaching and leading young children in an early childhood setting.
Demonstrated success in providing effective leadership in an early childhood classroom.
Strong classroom management skills with a nurturing and caring approach.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Adaptability to meet the diverse needs of young students and manage classroom teaching team.
